Defend

The secret revenge body?

Anata no niwa o mamoru

After judgment had been revealed
I was subjected to trial by ordeal.

They cast me into the mire and mud.
I landed with an awful thud.

I tried to climb out of the well.
I tried and tried. Each time I fell.

No one came to this cistern.
My calls for help became whispered.

I waited and waited for deliverance.
My shivering became quite vigorous.

My prayers were answered. My cry was heard.
I no longer felt like a gallows bird.

I was lifted up from the shifty shallow.
Solid rock became most hallowed.

I climbed up to the tallest cliff
to gaze out over the great abyss.

A new song sprang from my mouth.
I'd been delivered from my drought.

Many will see and stand in awe.
The eagle grasps the fish with claw.

Spinoza's judgment was not as severe
as the Inquisition which tortured and seared.

Happy are those whose trust is fulfilled.
Results were made for what was willed.

False statements are not contorted.
Pleas are heeded as needed, not aborted.

Great things are those that you have done
when the risk has passed and you have won.

Immeasurable are your plans in wonder for us
when goals are met in fulfillment of trust.

Numerous are the discoveries investigation reveals.
Design is layered. No change is cause concealed.

Sacrifice defends the state that stands.
Trade is made from hand to hand.

Prosperity is for those who work and wait.
So I said, "I will not be late."

It is written in the book concerning me,
"You will open your eyes to see
the law is deep in your heart.
It has been there from the start."

It was the horse that drew the cart.
Praise has been raised to show you art.

Your love was not concealed from the congregation.
Libation for the nation will increase your station.

Behold. I did not restrain my speech.
The greater good, I did beseech.

Faith in justice must draw the arc
of the moral universe to light the spark
that melts the metal of the matter at the conjoining part
for the strongest bond. A weld that holds like the tiny quark.

You are the author of your love.
Let your destiny give fate a shove.

Innumerable troubles have crowded me;
so many I could barely see.

There were more in number than the hairs on my head.
My heart felt like a part of the living dead.

Please deliver me from the ties that bind my mind.
When I seek truth, it is facts that I will find.

Let those who seek to harm be dismayed
by the trouble they cause by the game they played.

Let those who delight in causing misfortune
feel the shame for their social contortion.

Let those who gloat over the pain they caused
remind those they harmed to stay on guard.

Let those who defend the will for salvation
be granted grace to find safe haven.

Let those who love your salvation say,
"It is great to love the eternal way."

Though poor and afflicted, I have been regarded
as an ardent artist for the guarded home and garden.

40 Expectans, expectavi

1 I waited patiently upon the Lord; *
he stooped to me and heard my cry.
2 He lifted me out of the desolate pit, out of the mire and clay; *
he set my feet upon a high cliff and made my footing sure.
3 He put a new song in my mouth,
a song of praise to our God; *
many shall see, and stand in awe,
and put their trust in the Lord.
4 Happy are they who trust in the Lord! *
they do not resort to evil spirits or turn to false gods.
5 Great things are they that you have done, O Lord my God!
how great your wonders and your plans for us! *
there is none who can be compared with you.
6 Oh, that I could make them known and tell them! *
but they are more than I can count.
7 In sacrifice and offering you take no pleasure *
(you have given me ears to hear you);
8 Burnt-offering and sin-offering you have not required, *
and so I said, "Behold, I come.
9 In the roll of the book it is written concerning me: *
'I love to do your will, O my God;
your law is deep in my heart.'"
10 I proclaimed righteousness in the great congregation; *
behold, I did not restrain my lips;
and that, O Lord, you know.
11 Your righteousness have I not hidden in my heart;
I have spoken of your faithfulness and your deliverance; *
I have not concealed your love and faithfulness from the great congregation.
12 You are the Lord;
do not withhold your compassion from me; *
let your love and your faithfulness keep me safe for ever,
13 For innumerable troubles have crowded upon me;
my sins have overtaken me, and I cannot see; *
they are more in number than the hairs of my head,
and my heart fails me.
14 Be pleased, O Lord, to deliver me; *
O Lord, make haste to help me.
15 Let them be ashamed and altogether dismayed
who seek after my life to destroy it; *
let them draw back and be disgraced who take pleasure in my misfortune.
16 Let those who say "Aha!" and gloat over me be confounded, *
because they are ashamed.
17 Let all who seek you rejoice in you and be glad; *
let those who love your salvation continually say,
"Great is the Lord!"
18 Though I am poor and afflicted, *
the Lord will have regard for me.
19 You are my helper and my deliverer; *
do not tarry, O my God.
