Live life to make it worthy.
Law has to be for people to be good.
It has to be against discrimination
and murder to be legal.

Raise praise for goodness.
Goodness is not just a matter of taste.
it is a fact of life when it comes to provision
for basic needs.

Let all those who have been redeemed
admit that they have been redeemed
from doing harm.

Let all those who have been liberated
affirm that they were liberated
from having harm done.

They were gathered from any land;
from the east, the west, the north,\
and the south. Some wandered
in desert terrain. They left society
to find peace in the wilderness.

They suffered hunger and thirst.
They learned to satisfy basic needs
to live. Some returned to society
with a greater appreciation
for economic provision.

The thirsty are satisfied with water.
The hungry eat to live. They don't
live to eat.

Some lived in darkness without liberty.
They had been convicted of crime
for which they had to do time
in prison. Their spirits were humbled
and disgruntled. They could admit
that they had done some wrong, but
they were sentenced for so long
for a charge for which they were not guilty
that their options for employment
were more limited when they got out
than when they were convicted of crime.
Meanwhile, the wealthiest in society
take more than they did before so
everyone else is declining in options.

Some cry out for help.
They find their way to the right kind
in the right amount of time,
so as to establish gainful work.
They found their way out of the darkness
to a place of responsible independence.
Chance was blessed with grace
as opportunity. Opportunity
was taken as productive.

Let us give thanks for mercy
whenever grace prevails.
Let us rejoice in the wonder
of love.

The doors to opportunity have been opened.
The bars for shattered dreams have been left behind.
Some celebrated insurrection as an antecedent
to war. They were afflicted
with belief in violent aggression.
They abhorred decency
and threatened others
with destruction.
They took up residence
in the shadow of death.

When they cried out for help,
they too were shown mercy.
They were delivered from their distress.
The word of healing was sent forth.
They were delivered from the grave.
Let them also give thanks for mercy.
Let them rejoice in the wonders of love.
Some went out to sea in ships.
They plied their trade over deep waters.
They saw the wonders of wind and water
at work. They have watched as the wonder
turned to thunder and the waves reached
from down under to toss their craft
about like a toy. They rose to the heavens
and crashed down to the depths. They were
cast around like drunkards; falling forward
and back; crashing into the  walls
of their own protection. Their hearts melt
as their spirits grew dim. They cried out
for help at the end of their wits.
They were delivered from their distress.
The winds ceased to reek havoc.
The waves were made quiet.
The hull remained intact.
They became glad in the face of the calm.
They made it to the destination for which
they had been bound.

Let them rejoice in their gladness.
Let them raise praise for the rays
of warmth from the sun.

Let us thank God for salvation
in the congregation of the people
and in the assembly of the elders.

Part I Confitemini Domino
1 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, *
and his mercy endures for ever.
2 Let all those whom the Lord has redeemed proclaim *
that he redeemed them from the hand of the foe.
3 He gathered them out of the lands; *
from the east and from the west,
from the north and from the south.
4 Some wandered in desert wastes; *
they found no way to a city where they might dwell.
5 They were hungry and thirsty; *
their spirits languished within them.
6 Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, *
and he delivered them from their distress.
7 He put their feet on a straight path *
to go to a city where they might dwell.
8 Let them give thanks to the Lord for his mercy *
and the wonders he does for his children.
9 For he satisfies the thirsty *
and fills the hungry with good things.
10 Some sat in darkness and deep gloom, *
bound fast in misery and iron;
11 Because they rebelled against the words of God *
and despised the counsel of the Most High.
12 So he humbled their spirits with hard labor; *
they stumbled, and there was none to help.
13 Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, *
and he delivered them from their distress.
14 He led them out of darkness and deep gloom *
and broke their bonds asunder.
15 Let them give thanks to the Lord for his mercy *
and the wonders he does for his children.
16 For he shatters the doors of bronze *
and breaks in two the iron bars.
17 Some were fools and took to rebellious ways; *
they were afflicted because of their sins.
18 They abhorred all manner of food *
and drew near to death's door.
19 Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, *
and he delivered them from their distress.
20 He sent forth his word and healed them *
and saved them from the grave.
21 Let them give thanks to the Lord for his mercy *
and the wonders he does for his children.
22 Let them offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving *
and tell of his acts with shouts of joy.
23 Some went down to the sea in ships *
and plied their trade in deep waters;
24 They beheld the works of the Lord *
and his wonders in the deep.
25 Then he spoke, and a stormy wind arose, *
which tossed high the waves of the sea.
26 They mounted up to the heavens and fell back to the depths; *
their hearts melted because of their peril.
27 They reeled and staggered like drunkards *
and were at their wits' end.
28 Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, *
and he delivered them from their distress.
29 He stilled the storm to a whisper *
and quieted the waves of the sea.
30 Then were they glad because of the calm, *
and he brought them to the harbor they were bound for.
31 Let them give thanks to the Lord for his mercy *
and the wonders he does for his children.
32 Let them exalt him in the congregation of the people *
and praise him in the council of the elders.
