Shine

Ut lucere divinum

Hear this teaching from life.
An open heart reduces stress from strife.

This truth from ancient times will be declared.
Your family and you will be spared with care.

That which has been heard and shown
has been revealed to us as known.

The deeds of power known under heaven
will be recounted to act as leaven.

Generations will know your praise.
Your work is shown with the sun's rays.

Violence was the wilderness of former times.
Civilization must construct for production's rise.

You split the waters to let us pass.
The sea was weaned of water and left with grass.

You led us with a cloud by day.
The fire by night let us find our way.

You split a rock in the rugged terrain.
You gave us drink without the rain.

A stream flowed from out of the cliff.
The river gushed without the fish.

We, the people had said,
"This way is harsh.  We will end up dead.

"Will we be killed by this cure?
We just don't know. We can't be sure."

Hear now, you house of conflict,
"You say my way does most restrict?

"Your way was terribly unfair.
You'd take a life without a care."

"When righteousness had left the pious,
iniquity had found his likeness."

"When inequity defined the lawful
the people were left to defend the awful."

"The righteous were left to stay the course
with diminishing returns for remorse."

"You were judged, you house of disdain.
You have been turned away from causing pain."

"Repent from your transgression.
Confession destroys the affect of oppression.
Get a new heart and spirit.
Turn from iniquity. Don't go near it.
I find no pleasure in the death of righteousness.
Refuse cruelty. Let conscience guide your light to bliss."

Let the people say,
"I lift my soul to you, Y-hw-h.
Let me avoid humiliation.
Let me make the situation
the path to salvation
not my condemnation.
Do not let my enemy
triumph over me.
I put my trust in you.
You will guide me in what to say or do."

Let none who seek your face be ashamed.
Let the treacherous be trained to refrain from causing pain.

Show me your ways.
Lead me with strength through the length of days.

Lead me in your truth.
Teach me how to calm and sooth.

You are the author of my salvation.
I trust that you will help me build my station.

Remember not the sins of my youth.
Keep me from the serpent's tooth.

An arch of many colors has been set beneath the clouds.
The covenant has been endowed.

The rainbow shows promise after the storm
that delight in the light of life may be your norm.

Leadership weighs justice with the scales
of experience to use reason to help benefit prevail.

Being washed from sin is not an ordeal.
It is a trial to help you heal.

The good news is like a friend
that shares your promise beyond your end.

Your action defines you more than your social role.
Show mercy as needed for redemption to grow.

You are the Lord of life,
the precious Christ.

You teach the humble to do what's right.
The lowly delight in your insight.

Let the same mind be found as with Jesus.
Claiming equality with God was not a reason
for being, believing or promoting treason.

He emptied himself of the claim to deity
to leave himself with that which was divine about decency.

He humbled himself with human likeness
that human kind may shine with  brightness.

Turn to the LORD your God with your heart and soul
that you may prosper as your ancestors in achieving your goals.

School is the tool of the Word for the Church.
Perspective on perception takes hold of hope in the search.

The good news has come to you with hope in the word of truth.
Grace bears fruit in comprehension in redemption from the errors of youth.

25 Ad te, Domine, levavi
I to, the Dominated, lift

1 To you, O Lord, I lift up my soul;
my God, I put my trust in you;
let me not be humiliated,
nor let my enemies triumph over me.
2 Let none who look to you be put to shame;
let the treacherous be disappointed in their schemes.
3 Show me your ways, O Lord,
and teach me your paths.
4 Lead me in your truth and teach me,
for you are the God of my salvation;
in you have I trusted all the day long.
5 Remember, O Lord, your compassion and love,
for they are from everlasting.
6 Remember not the sins of my youth and my transgressions;
remember me according to your love
and for the sake of your goodness, O Lord.
7 Gracious and upright is the Lord;
therefore he teaches sinners in his way.
8 He guides the humble in doing right
and teaches his way to the lowly.
9 All the paths of the Lord are love and faithfulness
to those who keep his covenant and his testimonies.
10 For your Name's sake, O Lord,
forgive my sin, for it is great.
11 Who are they who fear the Lord?
he will teach them the way that they should choose.
12 They shall dwell in prosperity,
and their offspring shall inherit the land.
13 The Lord is a friend to those who fear him
and will show them his covenant.
14 My eyes are ever looking to the Lord,
for he shall pluck my feet out of the net.
15 Turn to me and have pity on me,
for I am left alone and in misery.
16 The sorrows of my heart have increased;
bring me out of my troubles.
17 Look upon my adversity and misery
and forgive me all my sin.
18 Look upon my enemies, for they are many,
and they bear a violent hatred against me.
19 Protect my life and deliver me;
let me not be put to shame, for I have trusted in you.
20 Let integrity and uprightness preserve me,
for my hope has been in you.
21 Deliver Israel, O God,
out of all his troubles.

Deut. 30:10

The LORD will take delight in prospering you, just as he delighted in prospering your ancestors when you turn to the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

Turn to the LORD your God with your heart and soul
that you may prosper as your ancestors in achieving your goals.

Colossians 1:6

You have heard of this hope in the word of truth, the gospel that has come to you. Just as it is bearing fruit among yourselves from the day you heard it and truly comprehended the grace of God.

The good news has come to you with hope in the word of truth.
Grace bears fruit in comprehension in redemption from the errors of youth.

Luke 10:36-37

Which of these three, do you think, was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of the robbers? The lawyer said, 'The one who showed mercy.' Jesus said to him 'Go and do likewise.'

Your action defines you more than your social role.
Show mercy as needed for redemption to grow.

Out from Polytheism

Argula von Grumbach
b. 1492 Regensburg, Bavaria
d. 7.14.1554 Regensburg, Bavaria

Argula von Grumbach was a Bavarian writer and noblewoman. She became involved in the Protestant Reformation debates going on in Germany starting in the 1520's.

She was the first Protestant woman writer. Her letters and poems defended Martin Luther, his co-worker Philip Melanchthon and her reputation. She gained notoriety when she wrote to the University of Ingolstadt's faculty to protest the arrest of a Lutheran student.

She was born in Bavaria in the latter part of the 15th century.

Regensburg

Regensburg is a city in southeast Germany. It was built at the confluence of the Danube, Naab and Regen rivers. It is the 4th largest city in the state of Bavaria after Munich, Nuremberg and Augsburg.

Regensburg became a Free Imperial City in 1245. It was an active center for trade before the routes were shifted in the late Middle Ages. It became part of the Duchy of Bavaria in 1486. Independence was restored by the Holy Roman Emperor ten years later.

The city adopted the Protestant Reformation in 1542. The town council remained entirely Lutheran.

Argula von Grumbach

She was born as Argula von Stauff near Regensburg, Bavaria in 1492. Her family lived in their baronial seat at Ehrenfel's castle.

The von Stauff family were Freiherren.  They were lords with independent jurisdiction only accountable to the Emperor. They were among the pre-eminent leaders of Bavarian nobility.

Argula's upbringing was in a political and deeply religious household. Education and attendance at university was highly valued. Argula is thought to have learned to read fluently at a very young age.

Her father gave her an expensive and beautifully crafted Koberger Bible in German when she was 10. Franciscan preachers had discouraged it. They said it would only confuse her.

Those who received formal instruction were instructed in the classics of Roman civilization. She became an avid student of the Bible and memorized much of its contents.

Argula joined the court in Munich at the age of 16. She became a lady-in-waiting to duchess Kunigunde, daughter of the Emperor Frederick III. The duchess was said to have a strong personality herself. She was passionate about politics and religion.

The court as a whole was interested in spiritual matters. It is there that Argula's studies of the Bible could have become serious as a social activity.

Her young adult life was marked by tragedy. Both her parents became ill from plague and died in 1509. Her father's brother, Hieronymus, became her guardian. He was a leading figure at court but ended up disgraced in a political scandal that led to his execution in 1516.

Her outrage at his death most likely prompted her persistent loathing for violence and coercion throughout her life.

Argula married Friedrich von Grumbach in the same year as her uncle's execution. The von Grumbach family was not as prestigious as the von Stauffs, but they were still known in German history.

Friedrich himself had been appointed to an honorary administrator post in Dietfurt. He also had several other landholdings throughout Bavaria. He is also thought to have had ill health. He died in 1530.

Argula had four children with Friedrich. George, Hans Georg, Gottfried and Apollonia. The only child to survive his parents was Gottfried. Argula made all the arrangements for her children's Protestant educations.

Records indicated that Argula took care of many of the financial and business matters of her family even before her husband's death.

She wrote a poem in 1524 that stated, ‘May God teach me to understand/ How I should act towards my man.’ Friedrich was not a Reformer. He remained in the old church. He was put under pressure to ‘bring her into line’ when she was writing her letters to challenge the judgment of authorities.

Argula married again to Count von Schlick in 1533, 3 years after Friedrich's death. The count died within 2 years.

Martin Luther published his first treatises in 1520. Philipp Melancthon laid out Luther's teachings in a book. Luther had finished his translation of the New Testament in German by 1522. Argula von Grumbach read his work. She became a follower in that year and started a correspondence with him. She would meet Luther face to face in 1530.

Bavarian authorities had forbidden reception of Lutheran ideas at the time. The city of Ingolstadt enforced that mandate.

Arsacius Seehofer, a young teacher and former student at the University of Ingolstadt, was arrested for Protestant views in 1523. He was forced to recant his position with the threat of imprisonment and the stake.

A young woman challenged the Catholic establishment to a public debate in one of the most daring and remarkable events in the history of the Reformation.

She was a 31-year old mother of four. She listened to the news with apprehension and outrage. How could they even call it a trial? On what did they base their accusations? She wondered why no one had come to the student’s defense.

If the men were silent, she had to speak out. Argula wrote a letter to the faculty of the university objecting to Seehofer's arrest and exile. The letter urged the university to follow Scripture, not Roman traditions.

She wrote that Christ, the apostles and the prophets did not imprison, burn or murder anyone in the Bible. The  pope, the Kaiser and princes did not have authority over the Word of God. She criticized the pope for the use of Aristotle in the formation of papal decrees.

She argued that the 18 year old man would learn from his youthful indiscretion. She wrote as a member of the Church of Christ as set forth in the Word of God.

Her letter was turned into a booklet. It provoked a huge reaction. It angered Roman theologians, yet it was a popular sensation.  It went through fourteen editions in two months and became a bestseller.
She wrote 7 more pamphlets on similar pressing issues. About 29,000 copies of her writings were distributed in Germany between 1523 and 1524.

The printing press was a new technology in the early 16th century. It was not yet controlled by the State. It played a lead role in the reformation of information. Printers spread ideas that were disturbing to the establishment. The movement for the Christian transformation of classical political structure was faster than could be controlled.

Something similar was happening with science. Niccolo Copernicus' book on a sun-centered model of the universe was an example (1543). Comparable upheavals had occurred after the return of literacy and literature from the Latin translations of the 12th century.

The translation of classical texts had kicked off the Renaissance. It was the dawn of literacy in Classical Greece. The Romans had used Greek work to form their culture. The information boom in the Reformation was the 16th century predecessor to the modern internet.

Theologians wanted Argula punished. Her husband lost his position at Dietfurt over the controversy. Offensive epithets were used by her critics.  The sermons of Professor Hauer described her as a “shameless whore” and a “female desperado.”

Argula was controversial. She was shunned by some of her own family, but she also had admirers. The reformer Balthasar Hubmaier described her as a "pious woman" who was like "Deborah and Hulda" in the Old Testament and the "daughters of Philip" in the New.

Her challenge to the University did not overturn their judgment.  Her effort to promote Protestant belief for Bavaria didn't result in immediate success, but Regensburg adopted Reformation principles in 1542.

Argula continued to write. She also traveled alone to Nuremburg to talk to German princes about the Reformation. Such travel by a woman was not common at the time.

Argula von Grumbach was reported in a local chronicle to have died in 1554. There was some evidence however from correspondence of the Munich City Council that indicated that she could have been alive as late as 1563.

She was a model for the defense of nobility in the German Reformation. She used the principles that Martin Luther and Philip Melancthon had derived from John Huss.

The Bible was the authoritative source for the conversion of classical culture to Christian morality. The shift was significant in terms of personal perspective.

Polytheism was aggressively ardent in the at least metaphorically violent advocacy for individual perception regarding right and wrong with respect for the stories about the gods in mythology.

Christian monotheism according to the Anglican and Lutheran models was a unificatory perspective insofar as it was against both rebellion by the people and cruel punishment by government officials.

------------------------

Augustine had proposed the possibility of a 'just war' in the 5th century. It was written after Rome had been invaded by Alaric and the Visigoths in 410. The context suggested that defense was that which qualified that which could be called 'just' about war. The concept was used to call for the Crusades that started near the end of the 11th century.

Thomas Hobbes would eventually write for defense from attack as a prime directive for the state in the 17th century, but the long standing precedent for the House of Commons to use war to increase taxes was invoked by Locke's advocacy for a doctrine of destruction later in the same century.

Liberal politicians have used the claim of human rights violation as a pretense for military invasion in global expansion since that time. Primitive society itself was seen alternately as a violation of rights or the threat of destruction to civilized life.

The social climate In the west after WWII held that invasion was not a just political principle. This was maintained as the legal norm until after the destruction of the World Trade Center towers in New York City in 2001.

The Chinese socialist republic was modeled in part on the Russian, but China has a very long history of instruction in administration. While the goal of world domination was stated as a socialist objective, the conservative principles of administration in China rejected military invasion followed by long term occupation for any foreign nation.

Russia had been more aggressive in military action after WWII, but they were less aggressive than their western counterparts. When the US and European powers were taking military action to the borders of China, Russia got involved in the defense.

I love that I found help when I needed it.
Salvation came and I heeded it.

I felt desperate. My mind cried for direction.
Choice was compressed to this bit. I had to select protection
from the danger of dereliction.

I found what I needed before the moment of crisis.
The rightness in choice was decisive.

The cords of death had entangled me.
My sight was so strangled, I had to get free.

The grip of the grave grapple grabbed
until my adam's apple gagged
while seeing the sensible source sag
from the sense perception had.

Sorrow drove sadness to the threshold of pain.
The horror drove madness to enfold the insane.

Then I cried for help
after yapping a yelp,
“What do I have to do to find safety?
I need it now. I need it greatly.”

The success of salvation is gracious.
It was so efficacious, it was almost salacious.

Nothing else is quite so profound
as wonder in the world once it has been found.

Defense is granted to the watchful
if only because the watchful
watch for the goodness of the gospel.

I felt that I fell very low, but I was helped.
I exempted contempt for what I was dealt.

It is time to rest
now that I have been blessed
with the quest to sing of salvation with zest.

Stress from the test has worn my torn soul.
I will do my best to celebrate life as a whole.

I was rescued from death.
Help was given in the test.

My eyes shed natural tears.
I was grateful for my years.

My feet did not stumble
though I felt glad and humble.

I will walk in the presence
of the divine essence
in the land of the living
to give thanks for the giving.

I believed even when
I had been brought to a bend
when I said,
“No one can be trusted
when your trust has been busted.”

How will I repay my debt
without regret
for all the good things
carried by angel wings?

I will lift up the cup of salvation
and hold it high as a libation.

I will fulfill my promise to live
with reverence for life as a gift
in the rule of law that we win
in transcending sin.

Precious in the sight of divine Light
is the death of those who defended rights.

They lived good lives.
I am a defender of rights.

I have been resurrected as a good life
by the experience that brought me past strife.

I tasted a glimpse of the abyss.
It was black and gray with white lights in the tryst.

I have been freed from the world of discrimination
to recount deliverance by narration.

My ear has been opened.
I hear sounds that are spoken.

From the same mouth come blessing and curse.
Speech should be the garden ground for verse.

Who do you say that I am?
You are anointed to pass the exam.

I was not rebellious,
reckless or helpless.

I did not turn backwards.
I spoke in exact words.

Bravery is most bold when prepared.
Faith looks for benign design to be shared.

Time starts to grow bold.
The word shares the beauty of hope.

Hope desires goodness
to add to the fullness.

Measure the base
to secure great restraint
by improving drainage for rain.

The bug pulls the stem.
You straighten the hem.

The bridge to love leads the way
to the right thing to do or say.

I will offer thanksgiving as my sacrifice.
I will give thanks to the Giver of life.

I will speak with reason for the reasonable acceptance
of benefit for people in the presence
of the divine essence
in the assembly in public
in the city of peace that is love lit
by the waters near where the dove sits.

Yea Yah!
You fill me with awe!

1 I love the Lord, because he has heard the voice of
my supplication, *
because he has inclined his ear to me whenever
I called upon him.
2 The cords of death entangled me;
the grip of the grave took hold of me; *
I came to grief and sorrow.
3 Then I called upon the Name of the Lord: *
"O Lord, I pray you, save my life."
4 Gracious is the Lord and righteous; *
our God is full of compassion.
5 The Lord watches over the innocent; *
I was brought very low, and he helped me.
6 Turn again to your rest, O my soul. *
for the Lord has treated you well.
7 For you have rescued my life from death, *
my eyes from tears, and my feet from stumbling.
8 I will walk in the presence of the Lord *
in the land of the living.
9 I believed, even when I said,
"I have been brought very low." *
In my distress I said, "No one can be trusted."
10 How shall I repay the Lord *
for all the good things he has done for me?
11 I will lift up the cup of salvation *
and call upon the Name of the Lord.
12 I will fulfill my vows to the Lord *
in the presence of all his people.
13 Precious in the sight of the Lord *
is the death of his servants.
14 O Lord, I am your servant; *
I am your servant and the child of your handmaid;
you have freed me from my bonds.
15 I will offer you the sacrifice of thanksgiving *
and call upon the Name of the Lord.
16 I will fulfill my vows to the Lord *
in the presence of all his people,
17 In the courts of the Lord's house, *
in the midst of you, O Jerusalem.
Hallelujah!

Bermersheim vor der Höhe lies in Germany’s biggest winegrowing district. It is the winegrowing center in the middle of Rhine Hesse.

People settled there before the Romans came because the location favored trade with the convenience of a transportion hub.  It is located on the confluence of the Nahe and Rhine rivers. It is at the Rhine's entry into the gorge in the area. A Celtic (Gaulish) settlement by the name of Binge – meaning "rift" was established.

Roman troops were stationed in Bingen on the Rhine Valley Road in the early first century CE. They changed the location's name to Bingium. There the Romans erected a wooden bridge across the Nahe and constructed a bridgehead castrum. A castrum was a fortified military camp.

A Roman Mithraic monument which included a mutilated sculpture representing the nativity of Mithra was discovered in Bingen. One of its inscriptions is dated 236.

Mithras is sculpted as being born from a rock. He is shown as emerging already in his youth with a dagger in one hand and a torch in the other. He is nude, standing with his legs together emergent from the stone. He is wearing a Phrygian cap.

Another sculpture of Mithras shows him in an Anatolian costume. He is wearing a Phrygian cap in this depiction as well. He is kneeling on a bull which had been exhausted by being ridden. He is holding it by the nostrils with his left hand and stabbing it in the neck with his right. He looks to Sol with whom he will share the meat of the beast in a feast.

The sculpture distinguishes Mithraism from that part of the Hindi religion that will not sacrifice cows. The creatures are believed to be sacred.

The cult of Mithra represented another step in the direction of a monotheistic religion for Rome. The image of the sun represented the rise of one leader to power.

A Christian community was established in Bingen between 335 and 360 by the presbyter Aetherius of Bingen. Bearing witness to this time is Aetherius's gravestone. The stone can still be seen in Saint Martin's Basilica.

The town became a Frankish royal estate and passed in 983 by the Donation of Verona from Otto II to Archbishop Willigis of Mainz. The Binger Kammerforst (forest) came into being with Otto III. A stone bridge (Drususbrücke) was built some way up the river Nahe under Willigis.

The inhabitants of Bingen strove time and again for independence. The dispute between the Archbishop of Mainz and the Emperor led to destruction in 1165.

Hildegard was born around the year 1098. Her parents were Mechtild of Merxheim-Nahet and Hildebert of Bermersheim. They were a family of the free lower nobility in the service of the Count Meginhard of Sponheim.

Hildegard was sickly from birth. She is traditionally considered to have been their youngest and tenth child, but there are records of seven older siblings. Hildegard states in her Vita that from a very young age she had experienced visions.

She was a German Benedictine abbess, writer, composer, philosopher, Christian mystic, visionary and polymath. She is considered to be the founder of scientific natural history in Germany.
Hildegard was elected magistra by her fellow nuns in 1136. She founded the monasteries of Rupertsberg in 1150 and Eibingen in 1165. One of her works as a composer, the Ordo Virtutum, is an early example of liturgical drama. It is arguably the oldest surviving morality play.

She wrote theological, botanical and medicinal texts as well as letters, liturgical songs and poems. She supervised miniature illuminations in the Rupertsberg manuscript of her first work, Scivias. She is also noted for the invention of a constructed language known as Lingua Ignota.
Pope Benedict XVI named her a Doctor of the Church in 2012.

The city is near the confluence of the Mohawk and Hudson rivers in eastern New York. It is in the same metropolitan area as the state capital, Albany. The capital is about 15 miles (24 km) southeast.
The name "Schenectady" is derived from a Mohawk word, skahnéhtati. It means "beyond the pines".
The city was founded on the south side of the Mohawk River by Dutch colonists in the 17th century.

Many moved from the Albany area. They were prohibited from the fur trade by the Albany monopoly. The monopoly kept its control after the English takeover in 1664.

Residents of the new village developed farms on strip plots along the river. Trade and travel was connected to the west via the Mohawk River and Erie Canal. The city developed rapidly in the 19th century as part of the Mohawk Valley trade, manufacturing and transportation corridor.

More people worked in manufacturing than agriculture or trade by 1824. The city had a cotton mill. It processed cotton from the Deep South. Numerous mills in New York had such ties with the South.
Nationally influential companies and industries developed in Schenectady through the 19th century.

General Electric and American Locomotive Company (ALCO) were included as powers into the mid-20th century. The city became part of emerging technologies with GE collaborating in the production of nuclear-powered submarines. It has been working on developing other forms of renewable energy in the 21st century.

Micky was named Philip Andre Rourke Jr. at birth. He was born on September 9, 1952 in Schenectady, New York. He was the son of Annette (née Cameron) and Philip Andre Rourke, Sr. His father was of Irish and German descent. His mother had Scottish, French, English and German ancestry.

He was raised Roman Catholic and still practices his faith. His father was an amateur body builder. He left the family when Mickey was six years old. There, he graduated from Miami Beach Senior High School in 1971.

He had a short career as a boxer. His amateur boxing record was 27 wins and 3 losses.

Mickey Rourke is an American actor and screenwriter who has appeared primarily as a leading man in drama, action and thriller films.

He received critical praise for his work in the Charles Bukowski biopic Barfly and the horror mystery Angel Heart (both 1987).

Rourke teamed up with Don Johnson and Tom Sizemore in the cult classic action film Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man in 1991. Rourke had trained as a boxer in his early years. He left acting and became a professional boxer for a time in 1991.

Rourke returned to acting and had supporting roles in several films after retiring from boxing in 1994. He was in the drama The Rainmaker (1997), the comedy-drama Buffalo '66 (1998), the thriller-remake of Get Carter (2000), the mystery film The Pledge (2001), the crime dark comedy-drama Spun (2002), the action film Once Upon a Time in Mexico (2003) and the action thriller Man on Fire (2004). He played the role of a corrupt lawyer in the last film.

Rourke made his comeback in mainstream Hollywood circles with a lead role in the neo-noir action thriller Sin City in 2005. He won awards for his role from the Chicago Film Critics Association, the Irish Film and Television Awards and the Online Film Critics Society. He portrayed a past-his-prime wrestler in the 2008 film The Wrestler. He received a 2009 Golden Globe award, a BAFTA award and an Academy Award nomination for his work in the film.

He has appeared in several commercially successful films since then. These films included Iron Man 2 and The Expendables in 2010. He played the mortal king Hyperion in the 2011 film Immortals.

The Move of the Spirit was the unofficial name of a non-denominational charismatic Christian group that was started in the 1960's in Florida by Sam Fife, a former Baptist preacher.

Sam Fife used elements of charismatic ministry in his ministry in the early 1960's. He started at his church in New Orleans, then in his prayer group in Miami, Florida. His theology has been related to the Body of Christ movement. Free-spirited thinkers were craving answers. It was in the heart of the drug era. Sam Fife claimed that he would never die. His movement was presented as a non-denominational, non-profit charismatic international Christian organization.

Fife was considered an apostle by way of the five-fold ministry. A passage from Ephesians (Eph.4:11) was used to define the different ministries. It says Jesus gave some to be apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers.

Fife established ‘farms’ in Columbia, Canada and Alaska within a few years. Thousands of members still live on communal farms all over the world. Each member handed over half of their income to the 'farm'.

Pastors collected the income and acted as investment advisors. Move members dressed conservatively. Women were required to wear long skirts and shorter hair. They needed permission to go anywhere. Advice was given to members by elders in a life or death situation. Family visits had to be approved by elders.

Sources have shared reports of the organization's involvement with the horrifying torture technique of "waterboarding." It was performed on members who “didn't listen.” Some ex-members reported suffering physical, sexual and psychological abuse by leaders and elders while involved with this group.

Non-communal congregations also exist as “city bodies.” No one knows what became of Fife. It was claimed that he died in a plane wreck in South America, but no one could ever find proof.

Fife's teachings lived on through another minister named Buddy Cobb after his death. He published his own booklets and founded the Covenant Life College in 1982 in Fitzgerald, Georgia. Cobb has developed the concept that the goal of the Christian is "sinless perfection." He cites it as a requirement to be saved. Cobb stresses that we shall be saved by his (Christ's) life. He defines his life as reaching sinless perfection in living as "Dead to Sin."

A group named MOVE was established in Philadelphia in 1972. This was a black liberation group founded in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania by John Africa (born Vincent Leaphart) in 1972. The name is not an acronym. The group lived in a communal setting in West Philadelphia. The communal setting makes the group similar to the Move of the Spirit. This group lived by philosophies of anarcho-primitivism. The group combined revolutionary ideology similar to that of the Black Panthers with work for animal rights.

The group is particularly known for two major conflicts with the Philadelphia Police Department. A standoff resulted in the death of one police officer, injuries to several other people and life sentences for nine members. These members were convicted of killing the officer in 1978.

Another confrontation ended when a police helicopter dropped a bomb on the MOVE compound in 1985. The compound was a row house in the middle of the 6200 block of Osage Avenue. The resulting fire killed eleven MOVE members. The total included five children. Sixty five houses were destroyed in the neighborhood. No civil official was charged with an offense. The survivors later filed a civil suit against the city and the police department. They were awarded $1.5 million dollars in a 1996 settlement.

One Liberty Place was completed in 1987 in Philadelphia. It is a 61-story, 945-foot (288 m) skyscraper. It is part of a complex called Liberty Place. The complex has another 58 story skyscraper, a two-story shopping mall called the Shops at Liberty Place and the 14-story Westin Philadelphia Hotel. Building the skyscrapers ended the 'gentleman's agreement' to not build anything taller than the statue of William Penn on Philadelphia City Hall. Construction on the complex started in 1985 and ended in 1987.

Sarah Steele was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on September 16, 1988. Her mother, Katherine A. High, is a hematology oncology physician at the University of Pennsylvania. Her father, George Steele, is an internal medicine physician specializing in nutrition who was on the faculty of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.

Steele graduated with the class of 2006 from The Episcopal Academy, a private school in southeast Pennsylvania. She graduated from Columbia University in 2011 with a B.A. in comparative literature.

Sarah is an American actress. She is best known for her role as Marissa Gold on the CBS legal drama The Good Wife and its spinoff series The Good Fight. She has appeared in a number of successful films and TV series as well.

Sakai is located in far northern Fukui Prefecture.  It is bordered by the city of Awara to the north, the Ishikawa Prefecture to the east and the Sea of Japan to the west, The city of Fukui borders the city to the south. The Kuzuryū River flows through the city. It is about 750 km (465 miles) to S. Korea.

The town of Maruoka was consolidated into the city of Sakai . The town’s main claim to fame is the historic treasure at its heart: Maruoka Castle. The castle was completed in 1576. It is one of just 12 across Japan that still have their original tenshu or main tower.

The wooden structure collapsed during the 1948 Fukui earthquake, but the subsequent restoration work managed to rescue about 80% of the original material.  A scale model inside the main tower shows what the castle and the surrounding town looked like during the Edo Period. Virtually nothing but the tenshu has survived to the present day.

The semi-legendary Kofun period Emperor Keitai is said to have come from the area that is now the Maruoka neighbourhood of Sakai. The area was divided between the holdings of Maruoka Domain, Fukui Domain and tenryō holdings directly under control of the Tokugawa shogunate during the Edo period.

The area was organised into part of Sakai District in Fukui Prefecture following the Meiji restoration. The epicentre of the 1948 Fukui earthquake was in Maruoka.

Hooray for Yah!
You rock the heat of Rah!

Love is a process of heart
in the search of your soul to find
your self in the weather of the mind
from the start of your art.

Love lives in the unmarried too.
The single seek communion with the community queue.

If you need a hand
I will deliver mine as though planned.
I will do that which I can.

The light of the evening star shines bright
at the end of evening's entry into night.

The good fortune of the special senior
is a weed to the work of personal demeanor.

The wet damp cloud in the sea is lost to sight
in the brightness of the morning light.

Every horse inside the range of the cultivated belt
ran at the strange sight of the agitated celt.

The wren sought treasure through the eye of the needle.
She eluded evil with the power of the creedal.

Congratulations increased
when the maple sap for syrup pleased
the tree by flowing with ease.

I will give thanks for freedom
from the hate that killed Deacon Stephen.

I will raise my praise
in the congregation that prays.

The works of providence are great for people!
These are the acts that overcome evil.

They are studied by all who delight in them.
Imagination is guided by the sight of the gems in the diadem.

Assembly has to be democratic, republican and majestic
for fairness to endure as justice in a society for testament.

The greatness of the organization will be remembered
for the grace that makes justice temperate.

Money for food is given out of respect for needs.
This covenant remembers that ability heeds
the functional capacity for deeds.

People have been shown the power of work
for those who build structures that don't hurt.

Organization for the management of resources bound
defines government anywhere in the world that it is found.

Faithfulness with freedom and justice
are the products of moral law that builds trust for us
in an open society where science is the thrust for trust.

The commandment against murder
is the foundation for morality for the learner.

Truth is built with equity in sound
for those who dwell on this ground.

Redemption was granted to those who saw
that this was the observation for the rule of law.

This administration leads to bravery in time.
Reason loves enlightenment that transcends sight
and underlies what's right in the sublime climb.
to the conceptually tight.

Courage enters the car armed with respect for life.
The quarter moon doesn't stop action for what is right.

Respect for knowledge is the beginning of wisdom.
Those who act with love understand the thrum of the kid's drum.

The house of praise is built with gratitude
for the sun’s rays as the source for a strong attitude.

Raise praise for Yah!
You made the heat for the hot rock that the people saw.

Deuteronomy 18:16
This is what you requested of the Lord your God at Horeb on the day of the assembly when you said: ‘If I hear the voice of the Lord my God any more, or ever again see this great fire, I will die.’

Was the Mt. Horeb experience a prophecy about the death of prophecy?

Deut.18:15-16;19-20
http://bible.oremus.org/?passage=Deuteronomy+18:15-20
The Lord your God will raise a prophet like me from among your own people. You shall heed such a prophet. This is what you requested of the Lord your God at Horeb on the day of the assembly when you said: ‘If I hear the voice of the Lord my God any more, or ever again see this great fire, I will die.’

Then the Lord replied to me:...'Anyone who does not heed the words that the prophet shall speak in my name, I myself will hold accountable. But any prophet who speaks in the name of other gods, or who presumes to speak in my name a word that I have not commanded the prophet to speak—that prophet shall die.’

========================

Life in the wilderness is harsh, but nomads learn to live by avoiding death.

The Deuteronomist wrote history for the cult of Yhwh. He used the 'J' source to write. The J source was derived from the desert experience. It is supported by the movement to reduce the number of gods that people were expected to know to be regarded as pious. It sought to reduce the number of stories about immoral behavior.

The Elohim source was drawn from the experience of civilization. People had built shelters. Wandering from location to location had been reduced. Agriculture was developed. Farmers acquired a place in food production for society. It was proposed that there was a God of gods who directed the order for society. These sources pointed to monotheism from different perspectives.

The J source reminds us that there was a time when life was lived without settlement. The E source points to a time when law for society will be just for all. Justice is the guiding force for law. Murder is the greatest offense against the law with respect for the right to life.

Plato wrote 'the Timaeus' and 'the Republic' when Athenian society was in transition to the Spartan ascendancy. Democracy was defined as dictatorship. Dictatorship was defined as the province of the philosopher king. The destructiveness of the elements was the force that was to be used to keep people from rebellion.

This was a time when the Greeks saw the Persians as a threat to their culture. Athenian democracy was played down to favor a warrior culture that could defeat the Persian threat. Consensus of opinion for cultural development with education was made subordinate to winning war.

The kingdom of Judah had become a province of Persia. They celebrated the preservation of religious custom. They were a kingdom in a united kingdom. Insurrection from Greek sources was a threat to their security.

The Greeks assimilated Persian practices after Alexander's conquest. The Romans assimilated Greek and Persian practices after they had established their empire. The cruelty and violence of war became a support for severity in punishment and austerity in economics for society in general.

Wars of aggression are the greatest offense to peace. Peace is natural. War is not. Stories that claim that the other nation started a war when they didn't are the worst case of fake news.
Fake news that promotes war is not for justice. It is not protected as free speech by the first amendment of the US Constitution. This right protects a person from punishment for protesting political policy.

Freedom of assembly is also protected. People can meet to determine a consensus for communication. Those who pay for fake news and also pay to punish those who protest it, offend liberty with justice in our society.

War cannot be the rule of law for society. Defense is. A standing military and law enforcement are necessary to protect life. Violent aggression is the threat to our civility. The destructiveness of the elements is an enemy which requires the pooling of resources to combat.

Death is the end of personal life for whoever it was that died. It is a reminder that the prediction of the end of time for society has a value in preparing for the end of life to a person's body.

The loss of life represents the end of the species symbolically and emotionally. Each loss then presents a reminder to value life while it is being lived. There is the sense that if life is lost while living it to the best of your ability, the life was worth living. It was lived well. It was a good life.
Live well then. Don't support murder or genocide. The support diminishes the quality of life for society.

A large number of churches were built in Brighton in the latter half of the 19th century. This was due to the efforts of Reverend Arthur Douglas Wagner, a prominent figure in the Anglo-Catholic movement of the time.

He is thought to have spent his entire fortune on building a number of churches. This included St. Bartholomew's, an imposing red brick building, built to the size and proportions of the biblical ark.

Another notable Victorian church that was built is the Parish Church of St. Michael and All Angels. The building has stained glass windows by the pre-Raphaelites, William Morris, Edward Burne-Jones, Ford Madox Brown and Philip Webb.

Otto Pfenninger developed a method of color photography in Brighton in the early 20th century.

Ryle was born in Brighton, England in 1900. He grew up in an environment of learning. His father was a doctor, a generalist who had interests in philosophy and astronomy. He passed an impressive library on to his children.

Gilbert was educated at Brighton College. He went up to Queen's College at Oxford to study Classics in 1919 but was quickly drawn to Philosophy.

He graduated with a "triple first." He was awarded first-class honors in classical honor moderations (1921), literae humaniores (1923) and politics, philosophy and economics (1924). He was appointed as lecturer in philosophy at Christ Church, Oxford in 1925. A year later, he became a Student (Fellow) and tutor at Christ Church, where he remained until 1940.

He was commissioned in the Welsh Guards in World War II. He was a capable linguist who was recruited into intelligence work. He had been promoted to the rank of Major by the end of the war. He returned to Oxford and was elected Waynflete Professor of Metaphysical Philosophy and Fellow of Magdalen College, Oxford.

He published his principal work, The Concept of Mind in 1949. He was President of the Aristotelian Society from 1945 to 1946 and editor of the philosophical journal Mind from 1947 to 1971.

He was a representative of the generation of British ordinary language philosophers who shared Wittgenstein's approach to philosophical problems. He is principally known for his critique of Cartesian dualism for which he coined the phrase "the ghost in the machine." Some of his ideas in the philosophy of mind have been referred to as "behaviourist."

The primary industry for Williamstown was agriculture. Dairy farming, sheep herding and wool production were the most prominent forms. Sawmills and gristmills operated by water power at the streams.

Larger mills were added with the Industrial Revolution. The Walley Mill and Williamstown Manufacturing Company (Station Mill) were included. Both produced textiles. The A. Loop & Company (Water Street Mill) produced twine.

Tourists arrived with the opening of the railroad. Several inns and hotels were established. The Idlewild Hotel and Greylock Hotel were leading examples.

E. Parmelee Prentice and his wife Alta, the daughter of John D. Rockefeller, created Mount Hope Farm in the late 1930's and 1940's. It had a mansion designed by James Gamble Rogers. It was one of the outstanding experimental farms in the country. Today, it belongs to Williams College, which remains the largest employer in town

The community is named for local settler John Veech's Indian Hill Stock Farm. It was one of the largest horse farms in Kentucky for a time. Veech held over 300 acres (120 ha) as early as 1805. His family continued to own most of the local land into the 20th century. The Georgian-style Veech house still stands at 125 Indian Hills Trail. The farm's springhouse is at 119 Arrowhead Road.

An 1877 Louisville Courier-Journal article claims the name was adopted from the hundreds of Indians camped at the site at the time of Louisville's founding in 1778. The naming of developments after Indians was generally fashionable in the late-19th century though.

Louisville proposed a sewer line for Indian Hills in the 1980's. This time the proposal didn't include annexation. Indian Hills rejected the plan by a 4-to-1 margin in 1988. Extending a line through the community proved to be the only economical way to provide access to communities further east who had voted in favor of the service.

Legal challenges delayed construction until 1992, but a line was then constructed through the city without connecting to any of the local houses. A local resident was sued by both his neighbors and the county to deal with his overflowing septic tank in 1995. He and the septic tank companies claimed the problem could not be fixed. The only option was connection to the city sewer system.

The Act on the National Flag and Anthem was established by the Japanese Diet in Tokyo on August 9, 1999. It was proposed that the nisshoki flag and the Kimigayo anthem be designated officially for Japan. The emblem of the rising sun had been the unofficial flag since 1870.

There were suggestions to legislate the hinomaru and Kimigayo as the official symbols of Japan after Japan's defeat in World War II. A law to establish the hinomaru and Kimigayo as official in 1974 failed in the Diet due to the opposition of the Japan Teachers Union that insists they have a connection with Japanese militarism.

The law was passed after a vote in both houses of the Diet. It was considered one of the most controversial laws passed by the Diet in the 1990s. The debate surrounding the law also revealed a split in the leadership of the opposition Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ) and the unity of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and coalition partners.

The passage of the law was met with mixed reactions. Some Japanese hailed the passage. Others felt that it was a shift toward restoring nationalistic feelings and culture. It was passed in time for the anniversary of Emperor Akihito's enthronement.

Akihito is the current Emperor of Japan. He succeeded to the Chrysanthemum Throne upon the death of his father Hirohito (Emperor Shōwa) on 7 January 1989. He is the 125th member of the world's oldest reigning dynasty according to Japan's traditional order of succession.

The Japanese government announced in December 2017 that Akihito would abdicate on 30 April 2019. The abdication will make him the first Japanese Emperor to do so in over two centuries. This marks the end of the Heisei period. It will precipitate numerous festivities leading up to the accession of his successor, Crown Prince Naruhito.

The enthronement ceremony will likely happen on 22 October of that year. Akihito's younger son, the Prince Fumihito, is expected to become his brother's heir presumptive.

The Diet held the first Question Time on 10 November 1999. A question time occurs when members of the parliament ask questions of government ministers (including the prime minister), which they are obliged to answer. It usually occurs daily while parliament is sitting, though it can be cancelled in exceptional circumstances. Question time originated in the Westminster system of the United Kingdom. It occurs in other countries, mostly Commonwealth countries, who use the system.

Kaga Kaede was born on November 30, 1999 in Tokyo, Japan. She is a Japanese pop singer under Hello! Project as a 13th generation member of Morning Musume. She first joined Hello! Project as a member of Hello Pro Kenshuusei in November 2012. She  was formally introduced at the Hello Pro Kenshuusei December 2012 recital concert on December 9, 2012.

Kaga was appointed as a tourism ambassador for Kaga Onsenkyo, a hot springs town in Ishikawa Prefecture which she shares the same kanji of her last name on 19 April 2018. The secretary of the Kaga Onsenkyo Tourism Agency saw a Morning Musume concert and afterwards wrote a tweet wondering if he could get Kaga on a future poster for the onsen last November.

Fans started showing support with the hashtag "#加賀楓"(Kaga Kaede Poster Project). The red T-shirts for the Kaga Onsenkyo sold out at the booth at the Asobu, Kurasu SATOYAMA on March 31 and April 1. The "Kaga Yontohaku 2018" campaign will run from the beginning of June 2018 to the end of March 2019, during which the image of Kaga will appear on posters and brochures.

If she did not become an idol, she would have pursued her childhood dream of becoming a police officer. She had been told she has a strong sense of justice, like a police officer, around other kids. Since she was in a brass band in school, she also wanted to join the police brass band. She practices kendo (martial art sword fighting).

Kaga's father is the vocalist of The King of Metal Slime, a metal band, under the stage name Deb.
