Thirst
神圣的渴望

God provides sustenance and defense.
Divine design is my providence.

You give me my energy
though your nature cannot be seen.

My flesh faints with your distance
like a dry land where water lacks existence.

My soul thirsts for you.
Satisfaction keeps me true.

I look for you in your holy place
that I might behold your power and radiant grace.

Your kindness is the essence of life itself.
My lips praise you for your abundant wealth.

I will bless you as long as I live.
You are the reason that I give that which I give.

The light changed for the sight of sound.
The picture behind the face of need profound
contrasted with the image in the foreground.

My soul is content as with marrow and fatness.
My heart bears the image of eternal gladness.

When I remember you upon my bed
I recall the grace with which I was fed.

When I meditate upon the breath I watch
I feel the rhythm of life being taught.

You have been my helper.
You helped me build a better shelter.

I rejoice under the shadow of your wings.
You showed me the value of material things.

My soul is the image of you as true.
Truth is revealed in the value due.

Help me to grow in your likeness
that I may reflect the brightness
of your highness.

Waves visible and invisible move the air
in the timeless wavelength of inspired prayer.

Hydrangea May those who seek my life to destroy it
ask for ways that they may employ it.

Let them hear the edge of your instruction
to turn away from the path to destruction.

Do not put Christ to the test.
Self-destruction doesn't make destruction best.

Hate the sin
that may do you in
but don't celebrate the destruction of the 'sinner'
as though slaughter, massacre or murder made you a winner.

The 'sword of Damocles' was a tool to deter rebellion.
It wasn't a justification for collateral damage as a weapon.

Let the royal defense of sheltered space
serve the nation with the sanction of grace.

The LORD has delivered us from enslavement
to bring us to a place of wealth in variant valence.

63 Deus, Deus meus

1 O God, you are my God; eagerly I seek you;
my soul thirsts for you, my flesh faints for you,
as in a barren and dry land where there is no water.
2 Therefore I have gazed upon you in your holy place,
that I might behold your power and your glory.
3 For your loving-kindness is better than life itself;
my lips shall give you praise.
4 So will I bless you as long as I live
and lift up my hands in your Name.
5 My soul is content, as with marrow and fatness,
and my mouth praises you with joyful lips,
6 When I remember you upon my bed,
and meditate on you in the night watches.
7 For you have been my helper,
and under the shadow of your wings I will rejoice.
8 My soul clings to you;
your right hand holds me fast.
(9 May those who seek my life to destroy it
go down into the depths of the earth;
10 Let them fall upon the edge of the sword,
and let them be food for jackals.
11 But the king will rejoice in God;
all those who swear by him will be glad;
for the mouth of those who speak lies shall be stopped.)

Exodus 3:7-8
Then the LORD said, 'I have observed the misery of my people who are in Egypt; I have heard their cry on account of their taskmasters. Indeed, I know their sufferings, and I have come down to deliver them from the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land to a good and broad land, a land flowing with milk and honey, to the country of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites and the Jebusites.

1 Corinthians 10:9
We must not put Christ to the test, as some of them did, and were destroyed by serpents.

Luke 13: 1-3
There were those who told Jesus about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. He asked them, 'Do you think that because these suffered in this way they were worse sinners than the other Galileans? No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will deserve to perish as they did.'
