Find
Perfection

Kanpeki o mitsukemasu
ps19

Seek perfection in expression,
but don’t enslave yourself to it.

Do your best with the time you have
and you will produce quality
for your performance.

A good product revives the soul.
It shows excellence in design.
The testimony of the Designer
is sure. It gives wisdom to those
who are open to it.

Justice is the expression of law.
Legislation describes the concept.

The right to life is clear.
It gives light to the eyes.

The right to defense protects
the least force.

It endures for life. Just
judgments are drawn
from scientific investigation.

Killing an unarmed person
who does not present a lethal
and imminent threat is murder.

Justice is more precious than gold;
than any amount of wealth;
sweeter than pure honey
or sweetness of any kind.

Enlightenment finds truth for justice.

Fortune favors the brave heart that trains
for defense against adversity, but
the enlightened mind does not discriminate
against others.

Just judgment does not find guilt
or innocence for the charge of a crime
based on the characteristics of birth
or membership to a group.

I will watch my thoughts for error.
I will select concepts for written and verbal speech.

I will argue against arguments that had led me
to illegal views of law. Reason will be in season
to keep me from make believe believing
as a thief.

Above all, I will keep myself from prejudice.
Discrimination will not hold dominion over me.

Let the words of my mouth
and the meditation of my heart
be acceptable in your sight
for my strength and redemption.

Ps19:7-14
7 The law of the Lord is perfect
and revives the soul; *
the testimony of the Lord is sure
and gives wisdom to the innocent.

8 The statutes of the Lord are just
and rejoice the heart; *
the commandment of the Lord is clear
and gives light to the eyes.

9 The fear of the Lord is clean
and endures for ever; *
the judgments of the Lord are true
and righteous altogether.

10 More to be desired are they than gold,
more than much fine gold, *
sweeter far than honey,
than honey in the comb.

11 By them also is your servant enlightened, *
and in keeping them there is great reward.

12 Who can tell how often he offends? *
cleanse me from my secret faults.

13 Above all, keep your servant from presumptuous sins;
let them not get dominion over me; *
then shall I be whole and sound,
and innocent of a great offense.

14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, *
O Lord, my strength and my redeemer.

Respect

Respect
Needs

Sonkei no nīzu

ps54

What is the meaning of your name?
How does it shape your character?

What is the meaning of your salvation?
How do you fit into the greatest good?

Help me to understand your salvation.
Defend your cause insofar as it defends law.

Listen to my words.
Hear what I need.

Help me to see the answer
despite my distress.

Arrogance has risen against me.
Ruthlessness has sought my life.

Those who have no regard for rights
have sought only to increase their own advantage.

Behold, the more war morality
is not greater than the rule of law.

Respect for needs sustains life.

Condemn illegal surveillance.

Correct those who spy on me.
Destroy the means to achieve
unfair advantage.

I will offer the sacrifice of praise
with thanksgiving. Your name is so good.

You have helped me to survive adversity.
My opponents have not defeated me.

54 Deus, in nomine

1 Save me, O God, by your Name; *
in your might, defend my cause.

2 Hear my prayer, O God; *
give ear to the words of my mouth.

3 For the arrogant have risen up against me,
and the ruthless have sought my life, *
those who have no regard for God.

4 Behold, God is my helper; *
it is the Lord who sustains my life.

5 Render evil to those who spy on me; *
in your faithfulness, destroy them.
6 I will offer you a freewill sacrifice *
and praise your Name, O Lord, for it is good.

7 For you have rescued me from every trouble, *
and my eye has seen the ruin of my foes.

ps116

I love that I found help when I needed it.
I felt desperate need. My mind cried for direction.
I found what I needed before the moment of crisis.

The cords of death had entangled me.
The grip of the grave grappled grabbed
at the sensible source
for sensory perception.

Sorrow drove sadness to the threshold
of pain.

Then I cried for help,
“What do I have to do to find safety?”

The success of salvation is gracious.
Nothing else is quite so profound.

Defense is granted to the watchful.

I fell very low, but I was helped.

It is time to rest.

Stress from the test has worn
my torn soul.

I was rescued from death.
My eyes shed no tears.
My feet did not stumble.

I will walk in the presence
of the divine essence
in the land of the living.

I believed even when
I had been brought low;
even when I said, “No one
can be trusted.”

How will I repay my debt
for all the good things
that have been done for me?

I will lift up the cup of salvation
and hold it high.

I will fulfill my promise to live
with reverence for life as the rule of law.

Precious in the sight of divine Light
is the death of those who defended rights.
They lived good lives.

I am a defender of rights.
I have been resurrected as a good life
by the experience that brought me near death.

I tasted a glimpse of the abyss.
It was black and gray with white lights.

I have been freed from the world
of discrimination.

I will offer thanksgiving as my sacrifice.
I will give thanks to the Giver of life.

I will give reasons for reason
to benefit people in the presence
of the divine essence;

in the assembly in public
in the city of peace
by the water.

Yea Yah!

116 Dilexi, quoniam

1 I love the Lord, because he has heard the voice of
my supplication, *
because he has inclined his ear to me whenever
I called upon him.

2 The cords of death entangled me;
the grip of the grave took hold of me; *
I came to grief and sorrow.

3 Then I called upon the Name of the Lord: *
"O Lord, I pray you, save my life."

4 Gracious is the Lord and righteous; *
our God is full of compassion.

5 The Lord watches over the innocent; *
I was brought very low, and he helped me.

6 Turn again to your rest, O my soul. *
for the Lord has treated you well.

7 For you have rescued my life from death, *
my eyes from tears, and my feet from stumbling.

8 I will walk in the presence of the Lord *
in the land of the living.

9 I believed, even when I said,
"I have been brought very low." *
In my distress I said, "No one can be trusted."

10 How shall I repay the Lord *
for all the good things he has done for me?

11 I will lift up the cup of salvation *
and call upon the Name of the Lord.
12 I will fulfill my vows to the Lord *
in the presence of all his people.

13 Precious in the sight of the Lord *
is the death of his servants.

14 O Lord, I am your servant; *
I am your servant and the child of your handmaid;
you have freed me from my bonds.

15 I will offer you the sacrifice of thanksgiving *
and call upon the Name of the Lord.

16 I will fulfill my vows to the Lord *
in the presence of all his people,

17 In the courts of the Lord's house, *
in the midst of you, O Jerusalem.
Hallelujah!
