Glisten

Eliza Dushku

Listen to Hear
聞くために耳を傾けます
Kiku tame ni mimi o katamukemasu.
from Ps20

Sound needs matter as a medium.
It’s not just a tedium.

Waves travel through air, water or wire
faster than fire.

It may sound absurd, but
listening is necessary to be heard.

Listening is the active application
of the capacity to steer your perception
to achieve identification.  Ability
goes in gear when you listen to hear.

When you open your perception
to immediate selection,
sound with meaning
is detected for thought,
bought or taught.

Anything else is discarded
as meaningless nought
 …or noise.

React or respond?
Take up the baton.

Don’t wait for fate or
you will be too late.

Don’t take too long
or the moment is gone.

Communication is a window
for opportunity.

This sense of security
asks for maturity.

Logic uses reason to argue;
not gobbledy goo.

Reasons are detected, selected
and connected for argument;
an intellectual armament.

Personal attack is discounted
as flack.

Inductive inferences interpret
patterns for abstraction
to avoid much distraction.

Abstraction is the fashion
when true.

Deductive constructions
are very destructive when closed
to only a few.

Testing is questing for proof.
You won’t be ready
if you get too heady,
so experiment will rule out
a goof.

Make a statement of cause
that you can test in a pause
and you move one step closer
to truth… with liberty and justice
for all.

The greatest poverty
Is not deprivation
for the plutocratic economy
and privatization.

Desire does not tire.
It rises higher than fire
and dares
with more care
to sing
for what is fair
in public lairs.

Care floats on hope
as though tied to a rope
with the metaphysics
of reality in mind.

The law is a claw
that extends from your paw
to provide defense
for your booth.

Vote your own mind,
then you will find
you decide what is right
for the law in your life…
as long as it is good
for others too.

May you listen to hear
and choose what is dear
that your answers may
serve to defend you.

20
Exaudiat te Dominus

1 May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble, *
the Name of the God of Jacob defend you;

2 Send you help from his holy place *
and strengthen you out of Zion;

3 Remember all your offerings *
and accept your burnt sacrifice;

4 Grant you your heart's desire *
and prosper all your plans.

5 We will shout for joy at your victory
and triumph in the Name of our God; *
may the Lord grant all your requests.

6 Now I know that the Lord gives victory to his anointed; *
he will answer him out of his holy heaven,
with the victorious strength of his right hand.

7 Some put their trust in chariots and some in horses, *
but we will call upon the Name of the Lord our God.

8 They collapse and fall down, *
but we will arise and stand upright.

9 O Lord, give victory to the king *
and answer us when we call.
