The messenger of the covenant has come
for presentation in the temple as a son.

The offerings of Judah and Jerusalem have been pleasant
as the model for the worship of God in the present.

Membership in a tribe is not equivalent to instruction in the law.
Knowledge of the language for the promise of salvation has to be drawn.

Those who were held in slavery by the fear of death
were liberated by the Spirit with the holy breath.

He came to fulfill the promise to the descendants of Abraham
with the bloodless sacrifice established by the blood of the Lamb.

This high priest offered the sacrifice of his body on the cross
by the fire of the Spirit with prayer for those who had been lost.

He himself was tested by what he suffered for others
to help those who are being tested for what they may discover.

The parents of Jesus took him to Jerusalem for purification
according to the law of Moses to celebrate their station in the nation.
A sacrifice was offered to fulfill their obligation.

Simeon was righteous and devout in his study of the law.
His obedience was a symbol of grace in the acceptable draw.

He and Anna gave testimony as the first god-parents for the Church
that Jesus as Christ was the light for the revelation to the Gentile search.

O Lord, my God I call for help by day.
I cry out in the night for guidance in Your way.

Christ is the Lord
that leads the astral chord
for the choral ford.

Our Lord
is above board.

It may seem odd
but we can reach closer to God.

It is close enough to say
that we can be heard to pray.

Let my prayer arise.
Incline Your ear to my cry.

My soul is full of trouble.
My life feels the derision of division doubled.

Pit - Empty Well?

I had been reckoned like those in the Pit.
My strength had gone. I felt like this was it.

Like one forsaken among the dead
I lie as slain and profaned on a deathbed;

Like those who are remembered no more
as though the body had drifted in a boat from shore.

I laid in a state as in the depths of the grave
in regions dark, deep and depraved.

Wrath toyed with anger and envy at my expense.
My body was struck by waves that sought to erase sense.

My companions shunned me for the power
that made me a thing of horror by the hour.

I was shut in this state.
It felt like there was no escape.

My eyes had grown dim through sorrow.
Every day I called to You to help me reach tomorrow.

I spread my fingers at the end of extended arms
in the hope that You would release me from my alarm.

Have You worked wonders for the dead?
Did the shades rise up to praise You as living Bread?

Is Your steadfast love declared in the grave
or where the daffodil or lily no longer wave?

Are Your wonders known in the darkness?
Is the promise of Your salvation found among the starkless?

I cry to You before the dawn.
My prayer is offered before the first light is drawn.

Did You cast me off?
Why did my prayer not payoff?

I suffered terror for my error.
I seek Your redemption as the standard bearer.

Wrath toyed with anger and envy at my expense.
My body was struck by waves that sought to erase all sense.

The waves assaulted my sense all day.
They closed in on sensibility as the way
to play.

Love from family and friends was denied.
My companions dwelt in darkness unsatisfied.

Let Your love be imparted with peace
according to the word that doesn't cease.

My eyes have seen the salvation
promised to the people of faithful station
as a light to the Gentiles and for the glory of Israel as a nation.

Ps.88
A Song.
A Psalm of the Sons of Korah.
To the choirmaster: according to Mahalath Leannoth.
A Maskil of Heman the Ezrahite.

[1] O LORD, my God, I call for help by day;
I cry out in the night before thee.
[2] Let my prayer come before thee,
incline thy ear to my cry!
[3] For my soul is full of troubles,
and my life draws near to Sheol.
[4] I am reckoned among those who go down to the Pit;
I am a man who has no strength,
[5] like one forsaken among the dead,
like the slain that lie in the grave,
like those whom thou dost remember no more,
for they are cut off from thy hand.
[6] Thou hast put me in the depths of the Pit,
in the regions dark and deep.
[7] Thy wrath lies heavy upon me,
and thou dost overwhelm me with all thy waves. [Selah]
[8] Thou hast caused my companions to shun me;
thou hast made me a thing of horror to them.
I am shut in so that I cannot escape;
[9] my eye grows dim through sorrow.
Every day I call upon thee, O LORD;
I spread out my hands to thee.
[10] Dost thou work wonders for the dead?
Do the shades rise up to praise thee? [Selah]
[11] Is thy steadfast love declared in the grave,
or thy faithfulness in Abaddon?
[12] Are thy wonders known in the darkness,
or thy saving help in the land of forgetfulness?
[13] But I, O LORD, cry to thee;
in the morning my prayer comes before thee.
[14] O LORD, why dost thou cast me off?
Why dost thou hide thy face from me?
[15] Afflicted and close to death from my youth up,
I suffer thy terrors; I am helpless.
[16] Thy wrath has swept over me;
thy dread assaults destroy me.
[17] They surround me like a flood all day long;
they close in upon me together.
[18] Thou hast caused lover and friend to shun me;
my companions are in darkness.

Psalm 88

The title of the psalm states that it is a song from the sons of Korah and a maskil from Heman the Ezrahite. It is addressed to the choirmaster according to Mahalath Leannoth.

The bible addresses the theme of rebellion with the sons of Korah. Korah was the cousin of Moses. He led a rebellion against the prophet. It is reported that he and his family were 'struck down' by fire from heaven.

The group was not destroyed in fact. They were made into one of those families that served as singers in the temple. Now the sons of Korah were leaders of the people in prayer expressed with music as song along with the Kothahites. The Kothathites were the part of the tribe of Levi, those who served as priests in the temple.

Redemption is the key implication. Those who had rebelled acquired a position of service in the temple after they changed their position regarding God, Moses and the law. They had sought to force change on the leadership and the people with violence.

Their story would come to serve as an example that dissatisfaction could be used to seek guidance with prayer. They joined with the family of Kohath. Kohath translates as 'obey.'

The theme of redemption from the impulse to rebel is beneficial to the sovereignty of a state. It's not as though the weapons that were used in rebellion had to be outlawed. Knowledge of the use for defense is legal.

The darkness of Naphtali represents strength born of working the earth to produce a yield. Part of that strength is embodied in experience of work with tools that turns the dirt to make it fertile enough to produce plants for consumption from seeds. Another part comes from the ability to use the tools in defense from attack against the people of the land.

Heman the Ezrahite

'Heman' is a Jewish name (Hebrew: הימן) meaning 'Faithful'. It is found 16 times in the Bible. Heman the Ezrahite may be one of the three Levites assigned by King David to be ministers of music. This Heman was a grandson of Samuel the prophet.

The name Ezra is derived from the Hebrew word for 'help.' The Korahite Heman is called "the Ezrahite." A descendant of Levi was ascribed a name if he were a son of Zerah who belonged to the tribe of Judah. The psalm may have been worked into the canon of scripture from a later date.

The word "Maskil" מַשְׂכִּיל or "ha-maskil" indicates a scholar or an "enlightened man." The name was used as a title for activists in the Haskalah movement of the 18th and 19th centuries.

The Haskalah was an intellectual movement among the Jews of Central and Eastern Europe. It arose as a defined ideological worldview during the 1770's. its last stage ended around 1881 with the rise of Jewish nationalism.

The Haskalah promoted rationalism, liberalism, freedom of thought and enquiry. It was largely perceived as the Jewish variant of the general Age of Enlightenment. The modern press and literature in the language were pioneered.

The movement was functionally bi-lingual. Knowledge of Hebrew was promoted for cultural and moral renewal. The optimal integration of the Jews in surrounding societies included the study of native vernacular and adoption of modern values, culture and appearance. All this was combined with respect for economic productivity.

The pamphlet Auto-Emancipation was written in German by Russian-Polish Jewish doctor and activist Leo Pinsker in 1882. It was considered a founding document of modern Jewish nationalism especially Zionism.

Zionism was the movement that espoused the re-establishment of and support for a Jewish state in the territory defined as the historic Land of Israel. The pamphlet inspired Christians and Jews throughout Europe to support the establishment of the Jewish State.

The issue addressed the difficulty involved in working for recognition with both minority and majority identity in social status.

Choirmaster Mahalath Leannoth

The choirmaster was given the instruction to deliver the psalm according to Mahalath Leannoth.

The meaning of these words is uncertain. The conjecture is that mahalath is a guitar (lyre). It occurs in other places in the Bible as a wife.

Leannoth has reference to the character of the psalm in a way that may be rendered as 'to humble or afflict.'  The root occurs in ver. 7. Illness is taken as a metaphor for an affliction that 'leans on' the body.

v.7  Your wrath lies hard on me. You have afflicted me with all your waves.

The two words could be taken as a name representing the name of a person as the tone for that expression of sorrow.

The psalm is a personal lament. It is the only psalm that doesn't explicitly celebrate the experience of having received an answer to the request for help in the past.

Verse 12 suggests that the value for deliverance will be present in the expiation of song for having been delivered.

v. 12 Will your wonders be known in the dark? Will your righteousness be remembered in the land of forgetfulness?

The last verse is reminiscent of the trial of Job.

v. 18  Lover and friend have been put far from me. Mine acquaintance was cast into the darkness.

The psalm was a song of lament from the faithful helper whose hope was in the Author of faith by the promise of salvation. If darkness is darkest before the dawn, the brightest implication for the psalm is the hope for the light of deliverance from affliction.

Messenger

Malachi prophesied in Judah after the temple had been rebuilt. His book is the last of the Neviim contained in the Tanakh.

He is canonically the last of the Twelve Minor Prophets. This makes his the last section of the Old Testament in the Christian order for the prophetic books. Malachi is the last book before the New Testament.

The prophets had urged the people of Judah and Israel to see their exile as punishment for failing to uphold their covenant. Their commitment to the one God had began to wane after they had been restored to the land and worship in the Temple.

Animal sacrifice was being phased out of monotheistic worship. The experience of a strong literary emphasis on worship had been observed during the exile when they did not have a temple in which to offer sacrifice.

The literary emphasis instructed people in the value of religious expression (rhetoric) for the law with the emphasis on the agreement between the leadership, the people and God.

The religion still needed elders instructed in the law and the prophets to lead prayer in the consideration of the word. The tribe of Levi was to retain their position as a tribe of priests.

You will know that I have sent this commandment unto you that my covenant might be with Levi, says the Lord of hosts. (Mal.2:4)

Theirs was the covenant for life and peace. These gifts were granted for the fear that showed reverence with faith.

The priest's lips should keep knowledge to speak about the law as the messenger for the covenant. The priests would come to preside over the celebration of the marriage ceremony.

Marriage was a symbol of the covenant. It was a contract that required fidelity for success. It was not to be entered lightly. It was not to be taken as a prelude to divorce for any insufficient reason.

Some argued for divorce from their wives for being Jewish. Others insisted on divorce for foreign birth.

Marriage was that which produced offspring to be raised in the promise of salvation. Children that received instruction in the faith from their youth had an advantage with respect for fidelity in belief over how they might have been at the same age without such.

Different spiritual gifts were for the celebration of religious devotion in the community of faith with support drawn from profit for the production of a service for trade in the world.

A messenger with the gift of prophecy was considered to be specially sanctioned to talk about the relevance of the law for the promise of salvation.

A messenger with the gift of prophecy was considered to be specially sanctioned to talk about the relevance of the law for the promise of salvation.

The gift for such speech had been cultivated in the community of the prophets who studied the scripture with prayer in their tradition.

Speech about the word is cultivated in seminary in affiliation with college in the contemporary world.

The Bible is studied in relation to classical knowledge.

Malachi 3:1-4

See, I am sending my messenger to prepare the way before me. The Lord whom you seek will suddenly come to his temple. The messenger of the covenant in whom you delight is coming, says the LORD of hosts. Who can endure the day of his coming and who can stand when he appears?

He is like a refiner's fire and like fullers' soap. He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver until they present offerings to the LORD in righteousness. Then the offerings of Judah and Jerusalem wil be pleasing to the LORD as in the days of old and as in former years.

The offerings of Judah and Jerusalem will be pleasant

Light to the Nations

Isa. 49:6

It is too small a thing for you to be my servant to restore the tribes of Jacob and bring back those of Israel I have kept. I will make you a light for the Gentiles that you may bring my salvation to the ends of the earth.

------------------

Israel was called to operate as a symbol for the nations of the world with respect for faith in the one God. The descendants of Abraham have a genetic component with the Jewish people.

The tribes of Jacob were raised to the kingdom of Israel.

The restoration of Israel was promised in the testimony of Judah. The testimony has been preserved in the Jewish faith. The faith has resulted in the restoration of the state of Israel to the promised land.

The title of the chief religious official of Judaism was Kohen Gadol (High Priest) from the early post-Exilic times until the destruction of the Second Temple in Jerusalem in 70 CE.

The high priests were drawn from the Jewish priestly families that trace their paternal line back to Aaron. He was the first 'high priest' of Israel in the Hebrew Bible and elder brother of Moses.

Zadok became the first chief priest for the kingdom of Judah in the establishment of the dynasty with David and Solomon. This tradition came to an end in the 2nd century BCE during the rule of the Hasmoneans. The position was occupied by other priestly families unrelated to Zadok.

The sacrifice of Christ was offered on the cross in atonement for sin that the gift of the promise would be extended to those who were not Jewish by birth.

The Christian Church was established as an option to become descendants by the adoption of faith in the One who gave the promise to many nations through Abraham.

Hebrews 2:14-18

Since the children share flesh and blood he himself shared the same things that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, the devil, and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by the fear of death. It is clear that he did not come to help angels, but the descendants of Abraham. He had to become like his brothers and sisters in every respect that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in the service of God to make a sacrifice of atonement for the sins of the people. He himself was tested by what he suffered. He is able to help those who are being tested.

--------------------

Those who were held in slavery by the fear of death
were liberated by the Spirit with the holy breath.

He came to fulfill the promise to the descendants of Abraham
with the bloodless sacrifice established by the blood of the Lamb.

This high priest offered the sacrifice of his body
for baptism by the fire of the Spirit with water and hands on the baptizee.

He himself was tested by what he suffered
to help those who are being tested for what they may discover.

Luke 2:25

John the Baptist was sanctioned for baptism with his celebration of speech about action with faith in the one God in his association with asceticism and his instruction in the law.

Jesus would share the same message without having left the world to live in the wilderness.

Either was considered a messenger, but the presentation in the temple was recounted by Luke in his gospel with respect for the testimony of Simeon and Anna about Jesus as the Christ.

The gospel of Luke was addressed to a Greco-Roman audience. Simeon, the obedient, was the monotheistic embodiment of Father time in human form. Anna was full of grace as the female form for spiritual devotion.

They were the proto-types for god-parents to welcome the mother back from her post-partum confinement to  purify the infant in front of the community with water, prayer and a hand on the head.

The purification represents another form of conversion from the darkness of separation to the light of re-union.

Luke 2:22-32

When the time came for their purification according to the law of Moses, they brought him up to Jerusalem to bless him in the temple with prayer. It is written in the law, 'Every firstborn male shall be designated as holy to the Lord.'

They offered a sacrifice according to what is stated in the law, 'a pair of turtle-doves or two young pigeons.'

There was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon. This man was righteous and devout. He looked forward to the consolation of Israel. The Holy Spirit rested on him. It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord's Messiah.

Simeon came into the temple guided by the Spirit. When the parents brought in the child Jesus to do for him what was customary under the law, Simeon took him in his arms and praised God.

'Master, let your servant depart in peace according to your word.
My eyes have seen your salvation
which you have prepared in the presence of all people,
a light for revelation to the Gentiles
and for glory to your people Israel.'

--------------------

The parents of Jesus took him to Jerusalem for purification

A sacrifice was offered to fulfill their obligation.

Simeon was righteous and devout in his study of the law.
His obedience was a symbol of grace in the acceptable draw.

He and Anna gave testimony as the first god-parents for the Church
that Jesus as Christ was the light for the revelation to the Gentile search.

Purification

Postpartum Confinement
wiki Postpartum Confinement

Postpartum confinement is a traditional practice for recuperation after giving birth to an infant child. This postnatal recuperation lasts for a culturally variable length of time.

It lasts from 30 to 40 days according to one standard. Another runs from between 2 months and 100 days. The story about the presentation of Jesus in the temple identifies the length of recuperation and separation as 40 days.

The woman was defined as impure due to the susceptibility to illness or the communication of disease. There are other physical recovery issues as well that included blood loss from damage caused by delivery after having carried the fetus to term.

The practice is for the health of the mother and the infant. The woman's body needs time to recover from the stress of pregnancy and giving birth. The immune system for the infant needs to build strength close to the body of the mother.

The baby has started to breathe the air and eat food with his or her mouth for the first time. The strength of the immune system is necessary for the independent movement of the child.

The weeks of rest while the mother heals also protect the infant as it adjusts to the world, and both learn to recover from the change in physical states. This recovery includes feeding on milk and baby food.

The period of recuperation unburdens the mother of physically demanding responsibilities and ensures that she gets plenty of rest. This practice is standard for China, Japan, Korea, India and Latin America as well as in Europe, English speaking countries and various diverse locations.

Almost all countries have some form of maternity leave. There are countries that encourage men to take some paternity leave.

Even those that mandate that some of the shared parental leave must be used by the father ("father's quota") acknowledge that the mother needs time off work to recover from the childbirth and deal with the postpartum physiological changes.

The Churching of women is celebrated after the postpartum confinement in Christian tradition. Baby showers or push presents can be given to show support before birth or after the confinement.

Certain 'Birth of Jesus' paintings depict the 'lying in' of Mary as an image that encourages mothers to take the time to rest and recover after birth.

The European custom of recuperation was called 'lying in'. Women were "confined" to their beds of homes during this period that preceded the return to the community.

"Churching" served to mark the end of these weeks of separation and to start the reintegration of the woman into the community as a mother.

The Churching of Women is the ceremony wherein a blessing is given to the mother after recovery from childbirth. Thanksgiving is offered for the survival of the woman even in cases where the infant did not survive (stillborn or death prior to baptism).

The ceremony contains no elements of ritual purification with animal sacrifice as described in Leviticus. Cleansing in a mikvah or a ritual bath was not required.

A young turtledove or pigeon was to be offered in expiation for sin to the priest at the door of the temple. A lamb was to be brought to be burnt in sacrifice.

Two turtledoves or pigeons could be offered, if a lamb wasn't affordable or available.

This text was of particular interest to Luke in his capacity as a physician. It described the Jewish custom for purification in terms of the mothers' health.

The postpartum confinement was for the purification of "the blood" of the mother. She was to remain separate from the temple and was to touch "no holy thing" until the period of separation had been completed.

Luke added that the offering of sacrifice for sin was for the "first born" son. He then simply stated that the law required a "pair of doves or two young pigeons." He concluded that the parents fulfilled what the law required.

There are symbolic indications that the period represents a return to the primitive state of paradise for the mother and child for the sake of recovery in the return to the normal activities of civilized life.

Passage through the psychological stages of development from animism to polytheism to monotheism were symbolically recounted by not touching any holy thing until the mother, child and father were celebrated as a family in the community with the blessing of prayer.

Presentation
wiki Presentation of Jesus in the Temple

The feast of the Presentation is also known as the "Meeting" in Greek celebration and "Candlemas" in Latin rites.

The date for the celebration of the feast is marked as 40 days after the Nativity on December 25th.

The Gospel of Luke 2:22–39 relates that Mary was purified according to the religious law with the presentation of the baby Jesus in the Jerusalem temple.

The 40 days for purification were stipulated by the book of Leviticus 12:2-8.  This explains how the date for the celebration was determined with respect for the Nativity.

It also preserves the recognition of the Roman respect for the special nature of time. The Nativity was celebrated near the winter solstice to represent the re-birth of the sun. The presentation represents the integration of polytheistic with monotheistic customs regarding the birth of the new year.

Candlemas is another "epiphany" type feast as Jesus is revealed as the messiah by the canticle of Simeon and the prophetess Anna. Elder time for community is represented by Simeon, Anna, the priest, Joseph and Mary.

They are like the Father in the experience of newness with respect for the past. New time is represented by the infant Jesus for the promise of conservative reform.

New technology has to be developed with respect for established forms or the change is too costly.

Purification in the context of the celebration of the Presentation is requested by prayer and answered with grace by faith.

Why shape anything?
Isn't natural development amazing?

The world is created from the earth.
A person starts to live with birth.

The world is everything that is the case.
It is something that we make as a place.

What is that which always is and has no becoming?
Space is the place for the race of galactic running.

What is that which is always becoming and never is?
Lightning is the track for a crack through the subatomic.
The ground for it is chronically chthonic.

That which is apprehended is in the same state.
Apprehension exists, but it evaluates.

It does not generate or abate
reality as the state for the slate.

That which is conceived by opinion without reason
is always in disagreement with the season.

It is becoming or perishing and never has agreement
with that which really exists in material completion.

Everything that becomes or is created
must be caused by something that can be dated.

Nothing material can be created without a cause.
The immaterial is that which gives us pause.

The immaterial cause that came before creation
is a wonder that contributes to our fascination.

The work of the creator who creates something to last
shapes form as an unchangeable pattern to cast.

Was the world always in existence and without a start?
It was created as tangible; as sensible as your heart.

All sensible things are apprehended by sense
to inform opinion as the seat for judgment.

Sensibility is created by sense with the meaning lent.
Facts are not to be by ambition bent.

The Maker of the universe is beyond determination as a fact.
Belief in said existence is an opinion which finds substance in act.

How someone acts has an impact on tact
in the relational track.

The angels burned with reverence and awe
as they celebrated the majesty of Yah.

As the Son is in the Father and the Father in the Son,
we are called to exist as united in being as though we were one.

We are not the same in particular though we are common in nature.
Individuation requires perspective on perception for judgment regarding behavior.

Love built a house and added a garden
Fortune made the home in the frame that had been started.

Adversity tried to sweep the home away.
The family had to overcome the melee
to defend their say.

Leaves from the tree of immortality
provided shade from heat as a probability.

The roof was held by walls of wood and stone
but time worked to wear the house as home.

Heat and pressure worked steadily and more
to fell the walls. Winter and summer cleft and tore
at the doors and everything else above the floor.

Grace shored the structure to cut adversity as it grew
until decay combined with the force of death in a firm bond renewed
to raze the building to the floor's mildew.

Love and grace took glory by the hand
and built a braver palace than the one that did not stand.

The builder had to look at what did and didn't work
in order to build a stronger place above the earth.

The sculptor learned to look into the future with his craft.
He worked with bronze to shape birds and bats.

The flight of his imagination based on the past
shaped the prediction for the event as it had been cast.

When pain had asked what brought this plan,
the decision to act in anger against the device of man
kept the moths from death in the flame that spans
the length of time in the view that scans
the pattern in the alluvial fan.

The strength to work beyond what was learned from pain
prayed for judgment from the experience of agriculture with the angular vein
to right the wrong from righting wrong for dwelling long in too much or little gain.

The battle between the fort and the phalanx forge was on.
Siege machines would reach beyond the wall as the protective phenomenon.

The world is the totality of facts.
Apprehension includes the interpretation of acts.

Many years were tossed by storms
in the journey from the fortification of forms
to the state of law with procedural norms.

Time, toil and length of labor
were required to construct forts to savor.

Such length of labor for so vast a frame
earned leadership and labor a place in lasting fame.

Ships from the fallen fort were now a scarce affair.
Lack in foreign language made finding direction rare.

They rarely landed in a place where
they had been before for trade that was fair.

The praiseworthy had to show his care
by learning to navigate by the stars way up there.

Her youth moved angrily in the night
when she appeared between war and leadership's might.

She was a product of destruction in her own right.
She labored with endless discontent as her targeted plight.

This heart of hearth and heaven was hell bent in sight
to let her fury vent for blight.

Worthiness moved past the anger
to live in the peace of an objective manner.

Spring stopped at the start of summer.
The beauty of the season still lives in wonder
like the joy of the newcomer.

The world is determined by the facts
and all the acts for different tracks.

The totality determines that which is and is not the case
for the face of the human race.

The world that in my thinking lies
is the home for truth in paradise.

My life’s fair visions are unfurled
within the shell in which I rest or labor still.

You can drive my car on the road
that holds the fold in the leveled low
to the sand on the beach you know.

Mindful of the outer skies
this darkness of the mind
finds sunrise with its spokes of light to shine.

The 'rude' pattern of the quiet mind
gave restraint a luxuriant black shine to find.

The glittering arrows shine dispersed
nature's aspect and the design that works.

Nothing from nothing has not been born,
yet this appearance has been worn and torn.

When once we know from nothing still
we will divine design with human will.

Those elements from which things are created
increase the bonds to that which had been stated
as weighted.

The increase will conserve its kind
in the law that conserves and binds
until from it release unwinds.

All begotten things abide in change
in the changeless stuff that defines our range
in the begotten name.

There are more abounding crops indeed
to provide food as the substance that we need.

The earth bears the primordial germ of things
which the ploughshare turns in fruitful rings
as clods make room that seeds may sing.

She kneads the mold
that quickens life's hold.

Since all must have their seeds wherefrom to grow
to reach the gentle fields of air to sow more to know
it also comes that nature dissolves the sown
into primal bodies again unknown.

The facts in logical space are the world.
Creation was formed above the shiny sphere of the pearl.

A thing is called finite after its kind
when it finds a place in your mind.

A body is not limited by thought,
not the thought by  the body wrought.

That which is in itself is a substance.
A change in electric current is inductance.

An attribute constitutes the essence of substance.
The ratio of the current to resistance is conductance.

That which exists in something other than itself is a mode.
The essence of existence is an absolutely infinite node.

The world divides into facts
with the mental force of an axe.

Desire does not always attain the perception for which it strives.
It gets what it can and reaches for different drives.

The cause of perception is the external body
that presses the organ to each sense as haji.

That which touch, smell, taste, sight or hearing has discerned
is a pressure for the mediation of nerve.

The impulse that is sent meets reception in the head.
The brain and heart read the signals that the senses sent to be read.

The eye sees light or color.
The ear hears sound bounce from another.

The nostrils smell the unseen odor.
The tongue tastes flavor to savor.
The body feels the sense that substance tailors.

All the qualities known as sensible
come from objects as detectable.

The object sensed is one thing.
The impression left brings an experiential ring.

Sense is subject to the fancy
of the vigilante chimpanzee.

Aristotle taught that the cause of vision
is sent from the object as a signaled provision.

Light does bounce from thing to sight,
but the thought that the thing sent a signal is not right.

A sound is sent by waves from a source.
A smell is an admission of emission that floats through air of course.

Sense is essential to safety.
Awareness smells the flower and dodges the crazy.

Experience plays a part in what an individual thinks to say.
The fancy chimpanzee has a role to play.

Education lends perspective to perception.
Learning from others can avoid deception.

The cognition of culture is a corporate experience.
This is something an individual should take as serious.

The natural and moral have an empirical course.
The laws of nature concern the experience of force.

Redemption is a course of will that overcomes remorse.
The rule of law is in accord with what ought to occur.

When what ought to happen does not, it is a metaphysical spur
to which the thought of justice must refer.

Experience is the ground for the empirical.
Faith is the substance for the miracle.

If you won't see beyond the past
expectation remains downcast.

Logic must reason to shape the frame for mind.
Nature and morality have a metaphysic drawn from design.

Physics has a rational part.
Morality has a sensible ground in the heart.

Who can ascend the height of the hill?
Who can stand in the essence of our existential thrill?
Who is there who has the will?

Whosoever has clean hands and an honest mind,
they may ascend to the height of the climb.

They will receive the blessing of leadership.
They may join the consecration of fellowship.

They carried the ark of the covenant with a new heart.
They came to the house of will on the hill for their start.

Such is the generation of those who seek love,
of those who seek peace from the eternal dove.

Narva Gate, St. Petersburg, Russia

Lift your eyes to the arch of the gate.
Open the doors of perception to investigate.

Let the ring of glory into your story.
What is this ring of glory?

The essence of our existence
overcomes all resistance
to subsistence.

This is the ring of glory.
Our existence is our story.

You are the one for me.
Your love helps me to see
how to be.
You are my moral philosophy.

You received spiritual blessing from this heavenly place.
You have drawn love from the empirical base.

This unique blessing shows special favor.
Restraint became the savior to savor flavor.

Shape yourself as a duty.
It's your part in nature's beauty.

24 Domini est terra
Dominated is earth

1 The earth is the Lord's and all that is in it,
the world and all who dwell therein.
2 For it is he who founded it upon the seas
and made it firm upon the rivers of the deep.
3 "Who can ascend the hill of the Lord?
and who can stand in his holy place?"
4 "Those who have clean hands and a pure heart,
who have not pledged themselves to falsehood,
nor sworn by what is a fraud.
5 They shall receive a blessing from the Lord *
and a just reward from the God of their salvation."
6 Such is the generation of those who seek him, *
of those who seek your face, O God of Jacob.
7 Lift up your heads, O gates;
lift them high, O everlasting doors; *
and the King of glory shall come in.
8 "Who is this King of glory?" *
"The Lord, strong and mighty,
the Lord, mighty in battle."
9 Lift up your heads, O gates;
lift them high, O everlasting doors; *
and the King of glory shall come in.
10 "Who is he, this King of glory?" *
"The Lord of hosts,
he is the King of glory."

Isa. 6:1-2

I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lofty, in the year that King Uzziah died. The hem of his robe filled the temple. Seraphim were in attendance above him. Each had six wings. With two they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet and with two they flew.

Uzziah- Power of Yah
Isaiah- Salvation is in Yah
seraphim- Burners

-----------------------

The angels burned with reverence and awe
as they celebrated the majesty of Yah.

John 17:20-21

'I ask not only on behalf of these, but also on behalf of those who will believe in me through their word that they may all be one. As you are in me, Father, and I am in you, may they also be in us, so the world may believe that you have sent me.'

-----------------------

As the Son is in the Father and the Father in the Son,
we are called to exist as united in being as though we were one.

We are not the same in particular though we are common in nature.
Individuation requires perspective on perception for judgment regarding behavior.

Thomas Sowell
Socialism

------------------------------

Ps. 24:1

The earth is the Lord's and all that is in it,
the world and all who dwell therein.

-------------------------------

The rise of communism in Russia had an association with Marxist socialism and the Boleshevik revolution. Socialism was critical of capitalism, but the predicition of the violent overthrow of government gave it a hostile intent toward executive authority and the middle class.

Russian culture had started with polytheistic roots, but had moved through the Byzantine and Latin influences in a way that essentially preserved serfdom based on the Egyptian model. There was a strong support for executive authority in this kind of society.

Cruelty in punishment was a characteristic of any legal code prior to Constitutionally legislative reform. Profit from war was as well, but the Russians were dedicated to independence and autonomy. They didn't have slavery.

This served as the basis for alliance with British royalty. The Russians used western standards to develop, but economic growth was slower. The Marxist political leadership used this slowness as the justification for violent revolution.

Socialism was Calvinism without religion. This made the democracy a form of dictatorship that was more obsessed with the achievement of goals with violent aggression. There was the pretense of objective scientific analysis in economics, but the incentive for development that characterizes effective executive leadership was removed.

Cultural development was inhibited when that was removed from leadership. Education, art and cultural development were suppressed for the proletariat. The only development that was achieved was contrived by the competition with capitalist enterprise. Labor had less motivation to construct or produce anything that wasn't dictated by socialist convention.

Seraphs were in attendance above the Lord. Each had six wings: with two they covered their faces; with two they covered their feet and with two they flew.

Isabel Florence Hapgood was a writer who translated Russian texts into English. Her work established a basis for understanding Russian culture.

She was one of the major figures in the dialogue between Western Christianity and Orthodoxy. She traveled through Russia between 1887 and 1889. She met with the celebrated author, Leo Tolstoy.

Isabel Florence Hapgood
b. 11.21.1851, Boston, Massachusetts
d. 6.26.1928, New York, New York

Hapgood was born in Boston on November 21, 1851.

Boston

Boston had the status of a town until it was chartered as a city in 1822. The second mayor was Josiah Quincy III. He undertook infrastructure improvements in roads and sewers. He organized the city's dock area around the newly erected Faneuil Hall Marketplace, popularly known as Quincy Market.

Boston was one of the largest manufacturing centers in the nation by the mid-19th century. The city was noted for its garment production, leather goods and machinery industries. Manufacturing overtook international trade to dominate the local economy.

A network of small rivers bordering the city and connecting it to the surrounding region made for easy shipment of goods and allowed for a proliferation of mills and factories. The building of the Middlesex Canal extended this small river network to the larger Merrimack River and its mills. These included the Lowell mills along with those on the Nashua River in New Hampshire.

An even denser network of railroads facilitated the region's industry and commerce by the 1850's. Eben Jordan and Benjamin L. Marsh opened the Jordan Marsh Department store in downtown Boston in 1851. William Filene opened his own department store across the street 30 years later. The store was called Filene's.

Brahmin Elite

The term "Brahmin elite" was coined in 1861 by Dr. Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr.

Boston's Brahmin developed a particular semi-aristocratic value system by the 1840's. They were cultivated, urbane and dignified. The ideal elitist was the very essence of enlightened aristocracy.

He was not only wealthy, but displayed suitable personal virtues and character traits.  The Brahmin had high expectations to meet. He was to cultivate the arts. Charities such as hospitals and colleges were to be supported. The role of community leader was to be assumed.

The ideal called on him to transcend commonplace business values. Many found the thrill of economic success quite attractive in practice. The Brahmins warned each other against "avarice" and insisted upon "personal responsibility." Scandal and divorce were unacceptable.

The total system was buttressed by the strong extended family ties present in Boston society. Young men attended the same prep schools and colleges. They had their own way of talking.

Heirs married heiresses. Family not only served as an economic asset, but also as a means of moral restraint.

Most belonged to the Unitarian or Episcopal churches. Some were Congregationalists or Methodists. They were successively Federalists, Whigs and Republicans in political association.

Boston was also composed of Irish immigrants. Many of these were Catholic. They had to hide their religious affiliation because it was banned when the city was part of the Bay Colony.

Congregations of Presbyterians from Ulster in the north of Ireland had immigrated near the start of the 18th century. They were called Ulster Irish but later were referred to as Scots-Irish because many of them had roots in Scotland.

Isabel Hapgood

Isabel Hapgood was the descendant of a long-established New England family. She studied Germanic and Slavic languages with a special interest in Orthodox liturgical texts.

She wrote for the New York Evening Post and the Nation as a journalist, foreign correspondent and editorial writer for 22 years.

The Nation

The Nation is the oldest continuously published weekly magazine in the United States. It was the successor to William Lloyd Garrison's The Liberator. The periodical is devoted to politics and culture. It was founded on July 6, 1865.

New York Evening Post

The New York Post is the fourth-largest newspaper in the United States. It is a leading digital media publisher. It reached more than 57 million unique visitors in the U.S. in January 2017.

The New York Post also operates the celebrity gossip site PageSix.com, the entertainment site Decider.com and co-produces the television show Page Six TV. This show garnered the highest ratings of a nationally syndicated entertainment news magazine in a decade when it debuted in 2017.

The Post was established by federalist and founding father Alexander Hamilton in 1801. It became a broadsheet in the 19th century as the New York Evening Post. The modern version of the paper is published in tabloid format. Rupert Murdoch bought the Post for US $30.5 million in 1976.

Russian Empire 1881+

The Russia to which Hapgood traveled was different than the socialist government that had been there from the start of the revolution that she witnessed until the fall of the Soviet Republic. It was also different from the current Federal Republic.

Alexander III was a Slavophile. He believed that Russia could be saved from turmoil by shutting itself off from subversive influences from Western Europe.

Russia declared alliance with republican France to contain the growing power of Germany during his reign.  The empire completed the conquest of Central Asia. It demanded important territorial and commercial concessions from China.

Alexander III was succeeded by his son, Nicholas II, in 1894. He was committed to retaining the autocracy that his father had left him. The Industrial Revolution began to show significant influence in Russia.

There were industrial capitalists and nobility who claimed to believe in peaceful social reform and a constitutional monarchy. They formed the Constitutional Democrats, or Kadets.

The Socialist-Revolutionaries (SRs) incorporated the Narodnik tradition. They advocated for the distribution of land among the peasants. This was a radical egalitarian reform.

The Social Democrats were another radical group. They were exponents of Marxism in Russia. The Social Democrats differed from the SRs in that they believed a revolution must rely on urban workers, not the peasantry.

-----------------------

John 17:17

Sanctify them in the truth. Your word is truth.

-----------------------

Hapgood was a major translator of French and Russian literature. She was an ecumenist who served as a key figure in the dialogue between Western Christianity and Orthodoxy.

Many of the writers Hapgood translated were people of strong religious convictions. She was a lifelong and devout Episcopalian.

She helped Harvard professor Francis James Child with his Book of Ballads. These were English and Scottish folk ballads that were published in 1882. Hapgood published her own Epic Songs of Russia in 1885. Child supplied a preface. The publication received several good reviews.

The next year Hapgood published translations of Leo Tolstoy’s "Childhood," "Boyhood" and "Youth." Nikolay Gogol’s "Taras Bulba" and "Dead Souls" were also published. Her translations of the major works of Victor Hugo began publication in 1887. The American public found that Hugo was brutally honest about the French Republic.

Hapgood was particularly impressed by the Russian Orthodox liturgy and choral singing. She wanted to translate them for the American audience.

Tikhon was the Archbishop of Alaska and the Aleutian Islands at the time. He supported her efforts and became her friend. She helped organized the choir for his consecration of St. Nicholas Cathedral in New York City in 1903.

Tikhon's successor after his promotion and return to Russia was Archbishop Nicholas. He gave Hapgood a complete set of Church Slavonic texts. The first edition of her translation appeared in 1906.

Hapgood visited Tikhon in 1916-17. He had been consecrated as the Patriarch of Moscow. She was editing a second edition of the work during her trip to Moscow when the Russian Revolution broke out. She became one of the first to report on the execution of the Romanov family.

Hapgood escaped with the assistance of the American Consul and returned to the United States. The second edition was not published until 1922 by the Young Men's Christian Association. Patriarch Tikhon was under house arrest. The publication contained Tikhon's endorsement dated November 3, 1921.

Hapgood accepted a $500 honorarium for those eleven years of work. The book received favorable reviews by Orthodox and Anglican reviewers. Several editions were also published by other Orthodox denominations, including the Syrian Orthodox, after her death.

-----------------------

Rev. 5:11

Then I looked. I heard the voices of many angels surrounding the throne, the living creatures and the elders. They numbered myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands. They sang with full voice.

--------------------------

Hapgood continued to admire Orthodox church music. She helped orthodox choirs in the United States. Their work included performances at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City and before President Woodrow Wilson at the White House. She also compiled a history of Russian Church music, but the manuscript was never published. It has been lost.

Hapgood never married despite Count Tolstoy's admonition that she should. She had no children. She died in New York.

Thanks

I will give thanks with my whole heart.
I will sing my praise in a public park.

I will recognize the value of industry.
I will do it in a way that says success for me.

I will celebrate accomplishment
with competence that is confident.

Love is glorified in recognition
with the consistent admission of revision.

Faith looks with the right affection
after the detection
of the best direction.

Belief in inerrancy creates stress
but finding the best
is the goal for the test.

When I called for help, I was answered.
I was given strength that was above the standard.

The leaders of the earth will recognize
goodness in leadership when it is seen with eyes
looking for objectivity with respect for the prize.

They will sing about moral economy
based on law for all as sovereignty in public policy.

The right to life is first for our thirst.
Recognition is immersed, interspersed
and rehearsed for the first.

Moral law must be drawn from experience with science.
Religion is a compliant client of guidance in license.

The present cannot progress
away from oppression as an offense
into the future by regressive events
with the suspension of rights for excess
compliance with munitions for "crisis."

Though space reaches high past the sky
heaven touches the earth with a sigh.
There are polygamous trends in nature,
but monogamy is necessary behavior
for economy in human relations to savor.

Fantasy reduces risk from sexually transmitted disease
unwanted pregnancy or broken social relations in routine.

It is not possible to imagine an existing party
as the only agency for representation in the state parley.

Independence has been declared for parity,
but the largest country in the world is run warily
by a single party sparingly for inerrancy.

Military action has been limited to defense.
War has been outlawed by practical sense.

Munition sales don’t obscure other trade relations.
Appreciation for patience in relation to situation
reduces complications.

China shines as a leader in world affairs.
The western world has been run by profiteers
who refuse to pay taxes, abide by the law
or respect the government for which we pay for all.

Though I feel anxiety in the midst of trouble,
I am kept safe. Security comforts my bubble
and leads me to safety to juggle with the subtle.

Purpose will guide me.
Guidance will define how I see
with freedom for responsibility.

Discovery will refine my purpose.
Redemption is for liberty in earnest
with justice in the law for all as the service.

Love lasts beyond the past.
Through the present it is cast
into ascension with decency that lasts.

Faith finds fulfillment in time.
Thanks often celebrates the sublime mine.

Gloriawesome!
The solemn problem reduces solid losses.

138 Confitebor tibi

1 I will give thanks to you, O Lord, with my whole heart; *
before the gods I will sing your praise.

2 I will bow down toward your holy temple
and praise your Name, *
because of your love and faithfulness;

3 For you have glorified your Name *
and your word above all things.

4 When I called, you answered me; *
you increased my strength within me.

5 All the kings of the earth will praise you, O Lord, *
when they have heard the words of your mouth.

6 They will sing of the ways of the Lord, *
that great is the glory of the Lord.

7 Though the Lord be high, he cares for the lowly; *
he perceives the haughty from afar.

8 Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you keep me safe; *
you stretch forth your hand against the fury of my enemies;
your right hand shall save me.

9 The Lord will make good his purpose for me; *
O Lord, your love endures for ever;
do not abandon the works of your hands.
