Lift

Eliza Dushku:
Recovery

Lift
Your Eyes

あなたの目を持ち上げる

Anata no me o mochiageru
ps121

I lift my eyes to the hills.
I disdain pills for pain or chills.

When will help arrive?
I will not despise what you devise.

I will share supplies
provided you help me to survive.

I lift my eyes to the sky.
I will try. I will not deny
that I can rise to apply
my reply.

My help lies in transcendence.
The light rising in the sky is so ascendant.

The tension in my attention
seeks the right direction for expression.

Creation makes the sensation of elation
that makes life worthy of celebration.

My foot will not be moved
until I remove it from my shoe.

Vigilance will not sleep so deep
that I can’t leap to avoid what creeps or sneaks.

The alarm for security will be sounded
for those times that are not grounded.

Reflection on our history
will help us solve this mystery.

While there are moments of crisis
we can use our devices for the decisive.

Despair is not an option
for misfortune’s noxious toxin.

Light shines from the deepest darkness.
The heart is that which hearkens.

The heat will not defeat you by day.
The dark will only dismay until you find your way.

There were stairs beyond the hill.
The boat belonged to Bill.

Your security will preserve you from all evil.
Your safety will help you find you are not feeble.

Time is not a crime
from which we must divine the sublime.

You are more than the sum of your challenge.
Each challenge finds a talent for your balance.

121 Levavi oculos

1 I lift up my eyes to the hills; *
from where is my help to come?

2 My help comes from the Lord, *
the maker of heaven and earth.

3 He will not let your foot be moved *
and he who watches over you will not fall asleep.

4 Behold, he who keeps watch over Israel *
shall neither slumber nor sleep;

5 The Lord himself watches over you; *
the Lord is your shade at your right hand,

6 So that the sun shall not strike you by day, *
nor the moon by night.

7 The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; *
it is he who shall keep you safe.

8 The Lord shall watch over your going out and
your coming in, *
from this time forth for evermore.
