Saitama, Saitama
Saitama is the capital and the most populous city of the prefecture. It is located about 25 km (15 miles) north of central Tokyo. Many of the residents commute to work there.
The city sits in the middle of the Kanto Plain. This is the largest plain in Japan. The city was built on lowlands and plateaus. Most of the terrain is less than 20 m (65.6 ft.) above sea level. There are no mountain ranges or hills within the city limits.
The western portion of the city lies on the lowland created by the Arakawa River. Smaller rivers branch from the Arakawa. The major rivers flow southward almost parallel to each other. The rest of the area mostly resides on the Omiya Plateau. The plateau extends in the north-south direction.
The average high in August is 31.5 C (88.7 F). The average low in January is -1.5 C (29.3 F).
The economy is principally constituted by commercial business. The city is one of many commercial centers in the Greater Tokyo area. It serves the prefecture, North Kanto and northeast Honshu.
The Honda Legend is manufactured at the Sayama Plant. Food, optical, precision and pharmaceutical products are produced there as well. Calsonic Kansei is a global automotive company headquartered in the city.
Urawa Station is 24.2 km (15 m.) from Tokyo and 6.1 km (3.7 m.) from Omiya. Omiya Station is part of the high speed train network. It is the largest railway hub in the prefecture.
Saitama Super Arena is a multi-purpose indoor arena. The maximum spectator capacity is listed as 37,000 seats. Morning Musume, *C-ute, Berryz Kobo and AKB48 have performed in the stadium.

Maimai was born on February 7, 1996 in Saitama.
She took part in the Hello! Project Kids auditions at the age of 6. She passed along with 14 other girls on June 30. Her audition song was "Te wo Nigitte Arukitai" by Goto Maki.
Her first appearance in the entertainment industry was in the group 4KIDS. The group appeared in Minimoni the Movie in 2002.
Hello! Project Kids performed alongside Morning Musume at concerts as backup dancers. Hagiwara performed with the group through 2004.
Hagiwara was assigned as a member of *C-ute with 7 other Hello! Project Kids members in 2005. The 8 members were passed over when it came to forming Berryz Koubou. *C-ute originally released songs on an indie label. Four indie singles were released in 2006. They also released their first album.
*C-ute first debut single, "Sakura Chirari" ranked third on the Oricon charts on February 21, 2007. This was the first day that it was shown to the public. The average age for the group was 13. They became the youngest group in the top 10.
Hagiwara published two individual photo books along with one group book that celebrated graduation from high school.
Hagiwara was seen walking with a man on a tabloid's web program in April of 2016. She apologized to the public for any misunderstanding. She consulted with the other *C-ute members about whether she should resign. The other members expressed their desire to work hard together.
It was announced on August 20, 2016 that the group would disband in June 2017 at the Saitama Super Arena. They were ready to move on to different positions in their careers.
There is a 'no-dating' rule for the Hello! Project members who have not graduated or disbanded that is intended to help the performers to stay focused on their performance work.
Stage performance, especially with music and dancing, requires a greater time committment than other forms of work. Studio production of records and videos seeks to create the highest performance level for the market. It doesn't leave time for a relationship with regular dates.
Hagi-chan announced that she would study English in New Zealand after the disbandment of *C-ute on June 12, 2017.
She was announced as the design producer for &IDOL. The company was organized by Ito Yuna for former idols to collaborate with various industries to develop a new market to help grow the economy with a business concept that is centered on idols.
Their first project was a beach cafe named SUMMER&IDOL. It was open at Yuigahama in Kamakura Prefecture from July 2 to August 31.
Hagi-chan announced her brand name Mii with the design for an original T-shirt. She established an official website for the company on September 13, 2018.
